I'm .57 grams away from 200oz of silver.
My goal is 255 ounces of silver.

Between first announcement of Chinese flu and now I accumulated 145 ounces of silver within a year.

The next step is that goal while obtaining 1/2 gold ounce. Technically I'm over 200 ounces of silver if I count my junk silver. I'll need another 250 merc dimes.

This past year has been an accumulation trial, but wow it's great to set a goal of 200 ounces and making it happen.

Keep stacking with what you can.

COMEX default imminent

"The New York Commodities Exchange reported delivering 400 percent more gold and 73 percent more silver in 2020 than in 2019, the TF Metals Report's Craig Hemke writes today at Sprott Money. Hemke concludes that the Comex is "on the brink" of failure to function as the physical market it was never meant to be."

l know Mike Maloney's 1:500 ratio is totally whack, but it's kind of hard to justify dropping $2k on an ounce of gold even though l already have roughly 150 ounces of silver.

Should l just get a gold British sovereign and contiune to stack silver?

This is a relic of a bygone era. This is just a glimpse of the kind of environment a society would have to create for the kind of art by Carl Spitzweg I was posting three threads ago to be created. If any of you guys felt the magical feeling of the deep past calling out to you through those paintings like I do, you realize how that kind of art can't be created in a world like today. 90% purity isn't that bad (unless you get taxed on it like in Canada), the only reason they didn't make these coins out of pure Gold is so they could circulate and be stored without deforming. I take it that the photograph you used was not the actual coin you have questions about? I'm not aware of any bullion coin (the photo looks like either an actual coin that circulated over 100 years ago or it's a recent bullion coin that has some visible wear) being issued in Europe that's based on the crowns used by the Holy Roman Empire. If it's a bullion coin, which usually is not in a capsule, I'd guess it's probably worth about spot price. If it's a proof strike, encapsulated, and all that other fancy stuff, it may have numismatic value. As a point of comparison, most, but not all, American modern proof strike coins don't have much numismatic value at all.

To be certain about your coin, though, you'll have to check publications or forums dedicated to European numismatics as I know nothing about the European numismatic market.

I was looking at APMEX's web site and saw the 100 crown commemorative proof strike and it's got no collectible premium that I can tell.

I had purchased 100 crown coins minted in the early 1900s and the ones APMEX was selling have no collectible value. Again, it's possible that maybe certain key dates or features have collectible value but I'm ignorant when it comes to European coins.

restrikes are struck from real dies, they don't usually have any distinguishing marks aside from die wear.

people that study coins can tell them apart because one of the things they like to do is catalog every single die ever used to strike a coin. So they already know the microscopic traits of the dies used for the restrike. The average person wouldn't be able to tell though.

restrikes are usually used to fill holes in coin collections when you can't get an extremely rare coin. So it's easy for a collector to tell. If you have some amazing coin that only 5 of exist in the world and there's thousands of restrikes out there most collectors are going to know it's a restrike because we keep track of who owns the really rare coins.

Thank you. That's interesting. I don't believe dies are tracked in US numismatics so if a new, really rare coin comes up, there's no way of comparing it with cataloged dies. I believe the only thing we can do is compare the newly discovered rare coin to known coins and look for gross discrepancies. Very minor discrepancies might be dismissable since it seems dies aren't cataloged.

Thanks again, knowledgeable numismatist. I've only ever seen dies sold by the mint where they destroy the striking surface. So the US Mint has die data for coins minted in the early 1800s? That would be a huge relief to me because of all the counterfeit Chinese garbage that has flooded in. It's good to know that there may be a way to identify even the skillful Chinese counterfeits and that it might even cost them more money than its worth to create an indiscernable counterfeit.

In your own image you may notice that all the cultures that produced these images were in the northern hemisphere. That is because the swasi is not a sun wheel; it is a star wheel

The swasi is an emblem of the start that tracks the big dipper around the north star. That is why only people in the northern hemisphere could come up with it as opposed to a generic sunwheel. It is intrinsically a symbol of those that looked up at night.

The Blue Lagoon market cap is 3x higher than Bayhorse, silly to compare them like this. But presumably you're aware that Bayhorse has 7 million silver ounces in their 43-101, whereas BLLG doesn't even have 1 million.

Bayhorse's concentrate also has 11% copper. "500 - 550 lbs per ton X 3.50 = $1750-$1900 per ton."

You have no evidence that Rana Vig would be more efficient at getting into production than Grame O'Neil. The reason why you buy BHS is because it's trading at 0.5x cash-flow. By the way, I own both stocks.

>>25589029
Counterpoint time:
>The Blue Lagoon market cap is 3x higher than Bayhorse, silly to compare them like this
Irrelevant; what matters is the market cap (or preferably fully diluted enterprise value) divided by the resources, or the value of the resources. Now I couldn't gind any info about the "$2B M&I copper resources" the other anon was talking about but if they do have that much then their market cap divided by the resource value would be 45M / 2B = 0.023x the value of the deposit, whereas Bayhorse at US$30/oz silver would be 15M / 239M = 0.063x the value of their mine. Obviously this is just quick maths -- I should dive deeper into these companies to understand and consider the value better, I really couldn't find that $2B copper resource estimate for blue lagoon for example
>Bayhorse's concentrate also has 11% copper.
That is a good point to add, something you can't just know by just looking at an Inferred resource estimate. I assume you're taking that from a bulk sample NR or something? Bulk samples aren't entirely representative of what is going to be mined necessarily but good info anyway. However also worth noting that Bayhorse's resources are Inferred, meaning that we as investors should be extra conservative when evaluating their mine, so a bonus 11% Cu might be contrasted by smaller grades or tonnages of silver than is estimated for example.
>You have no evidence that Rana Vig would be more efficient at getting into production than Grame O'Neil
Excellent point

Now for the really fun part. In the Altai region, Ursa Major is given great importance for its "pointing" to the north celestial pole which is considered to extend up from the sacred mount Belukha. Seven stars in particular are named as primordial shamans whose ability to transform into bears gives the constellation its bear theme. In the Vedic culture, Ursa Major is identified as the seven rishis and associated with bears, but no reason is given. Additionally, their folklore stated that the north celestial pole was connected to a sacred mount Meru in a distant paradise beyond a few mountain ranges and desert (which happens to be a vague description of how you'd get to the Altai mountains from India).
I highly suggest reading Geoffrey Ashe's "Eden in the Altai," which traces back the entire concepts of the fabled golden age and physical paradise to a prehistoric culture in the Altai mountains. He also argues that the entire reason for fascination with sevens ranging from the seven note musical scale found throughout Indo-Aryan cultures to the sacred seven of Jewish culture (which was really formed by copying bits from all cultures near them including the IE Hittites and Sumerians/Babylonians who had their own complex about seven sages and a distant sacred mountain after which their mountain-like temples were patterned) is due to that identification of the seven shaman stars of Ursa Major whirling around the celestial pole. Then for extra reading, check out "Denisovan Origins" by Andrew Collins and Greg Little for a look at some more interesting cultural links that can be traced to that region as well as to the Denisovan hominids who may be the primogenitors of those links. My favorite bit from that book concerns how three stars of Cygnus pass through the pole star position followed later by the constellation identified as Herakles, which is peculiar because of one of his labors being to deal with the three Stymphalian birds.

I don't think the average person will be buying junior mining stocks or any stocks at all when they can't put food on the table, the big money will probably flow into the mining sector and moon the stocks.

Also, another question as I'm still wondering on what to do.

Current stack:
>7oz gold
>45oz silver

Both are stored in Singapore at the moment as I am not entirely comfortable storing them in my current EU jurisdiction. I have another $10-15k USD ready to go for another big order and I'm thinking of just increasing my stack of gold, but I've been told numerous times here that:

>it is retarded to store PMs offshore as you cannot access them on short notice
>I have too little silver

So my thought is maybe to order a 500oz monster box of Britannias and store that at home, just in case. What would you guys do in this situation? Looking to hear from senior stackers.

Interesting microcap miner I want to share with PMG:

Blind Creek Resources (formerly Blende Silver Corp). 3.3m market cap explorer with two silver/zinc/lead properties in the Yukon and NWT. Tight share structure, very high insider ownership. Share price down significantly from August highs. From their investor fact sheet on their flagship Yukon property:

"• April (2018) Maiden NI 43-101 Open Pit Resource Estimate includes 32.98Mt at 5.03% ZnEq Inferred plus
3.65MT at 5.18% ZnEq Indicated*, at a Base Case cutoff grade of 2.0% ZnEq, which is approximately
equivalent to an NSR cutoff of CDN$39.35/tonne. *Moose Mountain Technical Services NI 43-101 Resource
Estimate and Technical Report dated May 25th, 2018.
• Indicated Resource represents 0.16B lbs of Zn, 0.16B lbs of Pb and 4.19M oz of Ag. Inferred Resource
represents 1.46B lbs of Zn, 1.362B lbs of Pb and 33.98M oz of Ag."

CEO.CA comment: "Number of high grade silver intercepts:
- 228.4 g/t (6.66 oz/t) silver, 9.71% lead, 5.48% zinc and 0.78% copper
- 136.1 g/t (3.97 oz/t) silver, 6.74% lead, 3.65% zinc and 2.43% copper"

One problem: management is viewed negatively and has been described as untrustworthy, "shady," "assholes," and "greasy bastards." Do your own DD, just an interesting find.

Gold is the classic safe haven, silver is less so. Silver is considered a combination of industrial and investment metal and is much more volatile and unpredictable than gold in its price movements. Gold maintains its value fairly well (though there are fluctuations of course) which is why it's talked about as a hedge against inflation.

Thank you for your thoughts Finland anon.

>couldn't gind any info about the "$2B M&I copper resources"

BLLG has 750,000,000 pounds of copper, you can see it in the 43-101 for the Big Onion. Juniors typically attribute 3 cents to a pound, so I presume that he multiplied the number by 3 and got about $2 billion.

>Irrelevant; what matters is the market cap ... divided by the resources, or the value of the resources.

Not so, because, as I have said, you buy Bayhorse as an absurdly undervalued producer, not an explorer. Pacifico anon (zfhX6r+z, sorry that I can't come up with a better name) brought up another small producer here the other day, Starcore. They only have 2.2 million silver ounces, similar market cap to Bayhorse, but all the mining insiders agree that they are absurdly undervalued. Why? Leaving their gold aside, simply do the maths for 120,000 silver ounces per annum (their production) at $100, $200, $300 silver, over a 10-year-long silver bull market, then project multiplying the stock by a 30x cash flow valuation, which Starcore was actually trading for during the last bull market, and which many stocks tend do in that environment. Then consider that Starcore, like Bayhorse, is valued at a $16 million mcap. Production changes everything; that is why Vangold is going to soar when it gets unhalted.

>However also worth noting that Bayhorse's resources are Inferred

First, doesn't really matter when we are comparing 7 million with less than 1 million. Secondly, Blue Lagoon only has 341,784 indicated silver ounces, the other 473,890 inferred.

Somebody kept bringing up Blind Creek here about six months ago, and ended up losing all their money. See the chat for what Blind Creek did in August, they are predators. SSE is still so cheap and keeps adding so much value every day that I simply accumulate there for my ultra-speculative silver microcap bet. I really liked that post which @HDLR made about the CEO, Brian Penny.

Thank you for this warning about the predatory nature of Blind Creek. I read the chat from August but didn’t fully grasp what exactly they had done to shareholders. Oh, well. This is why it’s so valuable to discuss these mining stocks here on PMG so we can share our perspectives on what is a very complex industry. I have a few other companies I’ve discovered which have piqued my curiosity: Rockhaven Resources, Silver Range Resources, Canasil Resources, Silver Predator, and Southern Silver Exploration. If you’re familiar with any of these, I’d love to know your thoughts. Thanks.

Silver and mining stocks are breaking out, so I have started coming here much less often and it is best not to expect me to be here any more. But just wanted to let you know that you are among the kindest and most intelligent people I have met, even though I have no idea who you are.

>>25599502

I mean the chat on ceo.ca. ceo.ca is the best web site for researching mining stocks.

https://ceo.ca/BCK

At over 30 cents per share, BCK did this, and crashed the share price by 75%:

"PRIVATE PLACEMENT

Blind Creek Resources Ltd. has arranged a non-brokered private placement of up to 18 million units at a price of five cents per unit for gross proceeds of up to $900,000 per a price reservation dated July 13, 2020. Each unit will consist of one common share and one-half of one share purchase warrant with each whole warrant exercisable at 10 cents per share for a period of 30 months from the closing."

"WTF?"

"I've never seen a PP so low compare to market cap. There must be an error."

"18m shares, 70% of the float, bastards"

"Make sure you contact the regulators to alert them to this placement. I will definitely do that"

"i hope the regulators will pick this up "

Wasn't much discussion in /pmg/ other than my talking about the incident and explaining to that one person what Blind Creek had done, and warning people not to invest in it.

>BLLG has 750,000,000 pounds of copper, you can see it in the 43-101 for the Big Onion
Ah, I somehow missed Big Onion entirely lol, I went right into "Technical Reports" and it only had Golden Wonder, Pellaire and Dome Mountain. Indeed, Big Onion has a historical 43-101 total I&I estimate of 640.9Mlbs Cu, 17Mlbs Mo. Don't know how I managed to miss that, thanks for pointing it out to me. I'll do my own math here:

Cu price: US$3.6/lbs
Mo price: US$23/kg = US$50.6/lbs

Deposit I&I in situ value:
640,900,000lbs * US$3.6/lbs = ~US$2.3B
17,000,000lbs * US$50.6/lbs = ~US$860M

So this deposit's value in the ground should be about US$3.16B. Impressive stuff, let's keep in mind of course that large porphyry deposits require a lot of capital to be able to turn a profit in the long term though

>Not so, because, as I have said, you buy Bayhorse as an absurdly undervalued producer, not an explorer
Good point, production cashflow and P/E have to be taken into account too. But the value of the mine itself is always important to note. My point was not that Bayhorse is a bad investment. As you can see, the company is valued only at 0.063x their mine's Inferred resources at US$30 Ag.

I'll have to consider production more in the future though... I'm focusing too much on exploration projects and this is the result it seems. I keep looking at the total value of a deposit but what's important is how much money can be made AND how quickly. Thank you for reminding me about that.
>First, doesn't really matter when we are comparing 7 million with less than 1 million. Secondly, Blue Lagoon only has 341,784 indicated silver ounces, the other 473,890 inferred.
True true, was just playing the Devil's Advocate a little bit. I like being contrarian, keeps me thinking critically about everything. I usually just count Inferred resources into the deposit without worrying too much about whether the ounces are in there or not myself :)
