Yeah, I've worked at a few hundred mines. It pays extremely well in the US at least. $75k starting is pretty typical for the big ones. You have to pass a physical and usually a drug test. You have to be able to get MSHA certification. Usually a background check.

other than that any experience in heavy industry or heavy equipment is helpful but if the company is really strapped for labor they might overlook that. Pan Man has a shitload of mining experience as well. He can offer more.

I guess if you're talking about buying stuff with pm's when currency hyperinflates you could think of it this way: gold would be for keeping you rich and maybe buying property or something else that doesn't keep up with gold's price inflation, while silver would be for smaller purchases
