I think this coin is a telltale sign of how much this board is now littered with newfags who got into crypto near the end of 2020 hoping to make a quick buck. Threads are filled with comments such as
>If it dips below 0.3 again it’s over
>NOOOO IT'S DUMPING.
>Don’t you realize you bought something that pumped for one day!
>why cant this shit coin go to at least 35c so i can sell everything
>this shit belows sub 30c
>GONNA KMS
>its literally 30 cents right now and about to drop lower
These were all copied from 1 GRT thread. Newsflash: You adderall abusing schizos have literally zero chance of making it. You will jump from shitcoin to shitcoin, hoping to make a measly 2x overnight and end up losing everything. Meanwhile I sit here comfy with a 30c entry, will continue to DCA if it goes down and will hold for a minimum of 10x. See your pink wojaks in 6 months to a year when you realize you missed out on 'LINK' yet again

GRT is a 2020 test for anyone wondering "would I have made it with LINK back in 2017"
Except GRT is 10x easier because 1) It already has a working product and adoption at scale instead of just a whitepaper and a plaidboi, 2) LINK has already proved there is a huge market for blockchain agnostic baseline protocols powering the Web3.0 stack, 3) It's already on every single exchange that matters and launched to 3 billion daily volume, instead of just EtherDelta and deafening silence.

/biz/ doesn't know a good project until it 1000x and then they fomo in to buy the top. There's no hope for the majority of these retards, they don't understand link was floundering at .15-.20 for over a year. Even now with the slow drop its been doing since ATH its still 100x from when it was being shilled relentlessly on here, and there are still retards that missed out on link. Well news flash retards, this is THE NEXT LINK. An actual useful coin with an actual dev team. No it will not be pumped and dumped in 1 night like every other shitcoin. I got in at 50c, with a few earlier purchases at 45c, and I just moved all my GRT to be staked. I get paid out every epoch by delegating to the biggest groups I can see and i've made at least .5 GRT (i only put in around 600) every epoch. that means that even on normal lanklet market price, i make 15c a day doing jack shit. extrapolate that to a week, that's a dollar. that's $54 dollars a year on a $300 investment (give or take), and it'll compound too since GRT will keep growing, and i'll get paid more delegating more GRT. the 28 day withdrawl period leaves something to be desired, but i'm perfectly fine with having all my GRT dialed into staking, as i make money regardless

Another thing that has been bothering me with the bullshit demortalization in these threads.

“Fake news”: “The Google of Blockchain” demoralization FUD debonked and BTFO...

My first inquiry that I made in an earlier thread because I kept hearing this over and over in GRT threads the last few days was:
I've heard this mentioned a bunch of times, but I have never seen anywhere that The Graph is representing itself to be "the Google of Blockchain".

At the end of November I decided right .. this is the time to get into crypto. I've watched since about 2011. I tried to mine litecoin and dogecoin. I tried to mine etherum. I carried over my boomer stock buying ways under the rational that institutional money would flow into the largest market caps and decided to buy 50% btc 20% ether 20% litecoin and 10% link. I then went back towards the middle of december and bought grt, inj and xrp. I swapped xrp for algo just after christmas and bought xmr.

What do I think of grt? I should have just bought bitcoin desu. What else? It is going to trigger a stop loss at this rate. I did buy at 12c though which was cool.

As far as I can tell, yes, you get paid every epoch. HOWEVER, it takes a while for those funds to come to you, as one epoch is a day. Basically, any Epoch not in the "distributing" phase here: https://network.thegraph.com/epochs/ means that people haven't yet been paid for it, as they are still crunching numbers on it.

There isn't a built-in way to see how much return GRT you've made, but what I've done is that I just track it in Excel/Sheets to guesstimate where I am exactly, and how much I'm making back.

>>25477691
don't realize your losses yet. this project has been in development since 2018, and it's only started functioning as a whole since the time they listed their token. This is going to take a while for the price to pick up, everyone smart here has realized and states that they don't expect to see any returns for a few months.

Everyone else who bought and sold out of frustration probably saw the day 1-3 threads of people flouting their 5xs from holding GRT since they bought at like 10c, and then bowing out afterwards. I advise you look into delegating.

It's not comparable to LINK, it isn't an oracle. It's an automated payment mechanism for people to host web APIs that gather data about the ethereum blockchain. Similar to filecoin except not entirely decentralized since The Graph has to act as a middleman to service API requests. Currently their service is free and the coin is just for beta testing their network. It's success will entirely depend on it's ability to offer competitive prices for queries, which is unknown at the moment

First of all you can already get the data directly off the blockchain itself. It's not really decentralized, and being decentralized isn't a benefit. Let's say I build a web application that needs data from the blockchain and I build a corresponding subgraph API to get that data. Now in order to use that API have to convince curators to stake their GRT just to get my service online, and I have to pay in tokens to use it. Why wouldn't I just host it myself?

You don't even know the difference between GraphQL and The Graph you retard. Unlike you I actually write web3 applications and use these APIs. Exchanges like Uniswap use The Graph because it's FREE and reliable (centralized). Your point about “reliability” is pretty bizarre for someone claiming to be involved in web3 development. You could easily say the exact same thing about Ethereum itself.

You sound like a bagholder who doesn't know what he bought, I'm a dev and what the anon says is the exact reason I ended up using bitquery (a centralized alternative) instead of the graph since there was no existing API for the data I wanted to query. If you think I'm bullshitting just go check out the app, you can see the network calls to bitquery yourself:

Realistically what's its price in say 6 months, 1 year, 5 years? Maybe I'm getting cocky because I bought ETH a couple weeks but I think I"m going to put some more money into Coinbase and put it on GRT.

Figured a week ago ETH to 1200 (getting there), DOT to 10 (done), and LTC to 200 (on the way as we speak.)
Yet the coin I'm actually in sits between 31-33 most of the day. Thankfully I got in at .31.

A "Graph Node" is just database software that indexes the ethereum blockchain based on any schema you give it. It's not dependent on the GRT mainnet at all. You simply point your application at the http endpoint your node provides. This way you don't have to pay for queries
what the fuck?
do you think hosting your own node is fucking free nigger?

its not cheaper
you have no fucking idea what youre talking about
an indexer node needs 2 TB of storage
you also need to constantly scan through each new block
its also centralized and is prone to uptime issues
SURE, maybe you as a small poorfag indie dev will be okay with making your own centralized server and maintaining it, regardless of how much it would cost, but as soon as you start dealing with hundreds of queries per day bandwidth starts costing money, memory, cpu, nigger every fucking business that deals with thousands of queries per day would GLADLY offload the work to a decentralized network that would cost it a fraction of what it'd pay in fees
this is why every business is going "serverless" with aws and similar structures, but you're just a larp not a dev so you wouldnt know
