In 2017 it started some months after BTC reached ATH. This time is a little bit different because first projects start to be real tech (IOTA, Cardano, ETH) and BTC has enough meme-power to be bought by institutions ("MuH DiGitAL gOLd"). So maybe this season is only 90% meme and 10% tech compared to 100% memes last time
