I would like to provide a new interpretation of the great filter
If the great filter does exist, it would be the most documented information in the universe. Information around it, information parallel to it, information indirectly on it, all of it would be recorded everywhere in the universe. So what do we find instead? Nothing, we find nothing. We find a lack of meaning. We cannot point to the great filter. It does not exist. And I propose that is exactly what the great filter is. The great filter both does and does not exist. I want to invest in IWDA + EIMI + bonds like a good nigger and enjoy beating the inflation in the long run. However when I try to calculate the returns for 10 years I take the 11% from Bloomberg website and compare against inflation which I assume very generously to be 2% per year. Now after 10 years the 2% compounds to 22%. 11% is nowhere near 22%. And the 11% will be actually lower (This is the fund with highest return in my portfolio; the costs, taxes, etc). Is my calculation wrong?
