The number of monero in existence is unknown. You are buying a manipulated scam coin with infinite supply.

>> No.25302195

>>25302137
the exact number is unknown, but the approximations are probably very close. Monero has a tail emission scheme to curb the economic disaster will face after the last coin is mined.

>> No.25302377

>>25302195
Monero actually gets connected to an unfair initial distribution quite often. The background of that claim is that Monero is a fork of Bytecoin which had an obfuscated and badly optimised, arguably deoptimised miner. Some developers were able to optimise it and use it before publishing those efficiency changes, hence getting an advantage. It is a matter of argumentation if this is an unfair advantage of those early developers or if it was a logical result of forking bad code and making Monero out of it.

>>25302377
well, I'm sure early eth and btc miners had similar advantages. I don't think it says anything about the viability of the project. Eth and most other coins have "infinite" supply too btw

the truth is, anyone asking that question doesn't have enough money to even matter.
honestly, it doesn't matter if you keep your piggybank money in btc or monero or eth, etc.
anything less than 100K is fine whatever you want to do.
if you had real money it literally would never occur to you that there was a question.

Why would I try and convince you to hodl king shitcoin for a project that
1. Does better at bitcoins original stated purpose as a currency than bitcoin itself (store of value revisionists can kill themselves for all I care)
2. Does better at bitcoins popular conception as a private magic internet money than bitcoin itself does.
3. Serves an important purpose in maintaining people's privacy, autonomy and sovereignty by stopping ZOG from tracking them (hence shills in this thread trying to convince you to use only traceable, public, transparent ledgers).
4. Curtails the globohomo agenda to control EVERY aspect of your life.
Go for it OP

Come hang out in Monero DG anon!

I'm a coding brainlet, but I submit to you these facts:

1) the code is open source, so all the people who are super smart at math and programming can see exactly HOW it works to be untraceable, and if they could demonstrate flaws in monero that no one else saw they would gain fame and acclaim.

2) the IRS put a $650,000 bounty on this coin's head for anyone who could trace it, and nobody has been able to claim the money.

Those facts make me reasonably certain that it works as advertised. Beyond that the answer is: complicated ass math and code makes it untraceable.

The free ebook below starts with a simple explanation of the HOW and then elaborates with the kind of complex specificity that I'm not quite autistic enough to wrap my head around.

You don't have to buy 0xMonero, but you should be aware Monero:
... has wallets that don't work
... has a majority of nodes that are malicious
... is tracked by the government and ciphertrace
... has fake branded wallets
... has malware on it's website
... has the majority of hashrate contributed by cryptojacker malware and bots
... has the majority of hashrate in one pool that can double spend and bring the entire blockchain down at any time
... you cannot properly use without running a full node and using a command line interface
