It's literally impossible that they win no matter how much they are right, the state won't allow this to become (what I think is called in English) a "precedent" case which would act as a reference to any future similar cases about crypto. It would be a significant loss of power against crypto if they won that and the state will pull every string that they can pull to make sure ripple LOSES the case. Chances are also high that they would lose even without manipulation, so one could argue them setting a losing precedent in that case will have a negative impact on crypto (before US court) permanently.
