I readded the token and it still says I have the current amount. I tried a different browser and I still get the same result

well I just sent it to a 2nd metamask account and that worked. No clue why I couldnt do it beforehand

there's only one way, just click on the cogwheel
there's no confirmation message or anything when you change the slippage, it just automatically applies to your next transaction
it doesn't have to be done before approving your tokens
