a.) no og crypto enthusiast/investor considers xrp to be a legitimate cryptocurrency, due to the fact that it is not decentralized. the entire point of cryptocurrency has always been to demonstrate that people nowadays no longer have to rely on traditional financial institutions to safeguard their wealth and spending power, something which xrp stands against
b.) while xrp has trading pairs with btc/eth and so forth, traditional fiat currencies do as well. it's very silly to argue that tether is a cryptocurrency, but rather that it serves as a link between traditional finances and cryptocurrencies

while xrp has promising technology, it is not by any means a cryptocurrency in the "traditional" sense, which is why we fucking hate it. vitalik hates chainlink for example because chainlink serves as a bridge between traditional off-chain markets and various blockchains, however, chainlink itself is not used as a method to prop up those institutions - instead, it serves to undermine those various institutions as well as trillion-dollar sectors such as insurance and law. chainlink is also decentralized, meaning that once tokens are in the wild, sergey and co. can do nothing but educate investors/adopters and watch as the network grows organically.
