They sold Statera as an index fund but instead of operating like a real index fund ie a token you can buy that automatically converts your purchase to balances amounts of the real index fund and gives you ownership of a percentage of the pooled assets (which would be amazing with a transaction burn mechanism Increase sta value, what you are actually getting is the right to pool balancer liquidity in hopes that there will be volume in the balancer pool which has all the indexed assets. The value of your investment has nothing to do with the indexed assets. Instead it’s just a way to pump transaction count in order to burn tokens and increase their pride. It was never an index fund. It's an ERC-20 token with a burn function
STA is meant to be used in index funds, such as Balancer pools (but not limited to those.) It adds a deflationary aspect to any index fund
Whether or not you see the value in that is up to you. But at least understand the project if you're going to fud it
