I always thought, and still think VeChain is a shitcoin.

It can have patnerships and all, but a fucking supply-chain oriented blockchain makes no fucking sense. IMO it's still a "smart contract can solve" use case. You just need the right layer 1 with scalability and extremely low fees.

Redpill me please.

>> No.25211584

You're right and wrong, a scalable layer 1 with low fees(ETH 2.0, DOT RADIX AVAX etc) could easily solve the issue but Vechain might use their hype and money and early mover advantage to make connections and work on their tech.

Anons?
Why can't any scalable smart contract platform + supply chain tracking dapp do EVERYTHING that VeChain does?
It's fucking data in a smart contract.

ANONS HELP

It is masternode approach, where the nodes are run by scammy chinese conmen.

I hear ya, I know this argument, but it seem so fucking weak. I work as data engineer in a very big company (> 100k employees) and supply chain is really part of all that.

Honestly, designing on-chain supply chain / logistics apps for the business will be handled to R&D engineering teams and will only focus on 2 things:
Security of the chain it's built on
Scalability / cost

That's absolutely all. I don't see anyone working in the real world who would say "Yea your solution based on Eth2.0/algo/xdai/layer 2 is extremely secure and cheap but I would prefer Vechain because I think their 50 times less secure Layer 1 + partnerships really IS THE SHIT"

I just can't imagine that.

Project that shilled and cashed-in hard in 2017/2018, however unlike req and shit like that it is still running and doing ok working with dnv-gl, wallmart china and some small fashion shit. Not much, but then again more than most. Also, /biz has a hate boner for it cos 'muh scam' and 'muh chinks'.

Laowai please stop making vechain threads you dumb chink

Correct take
I don't see a future for vechain unless they start making turnkey supply chain apps on top of another more secure chain

Thanks. Nice to see that other anons agree

If Bitcoin could be termed “digital gold” and Ethereum “digital oil,” then VeChain might be considered one of the first “blockchain engines,” or real-world applications of the concepts enumerated by Bitcoin and Ethereum. VeChain aims to revolutionize how products travel through the supply chain; making it easier for manufacturers, vendors, and consumers to collect, manage and share product information throughout a product’s lifecycle. Think of VeChain as an omniscient air-traffic controller for the global supply chain—perfect for the ongoing digital transformation of theFourth Industrial Revolution. For a more detailed technical explanation of how this complete and trusted supply chain operates, I highly recommend VeChain’s dev paper

VeChain’s technology is based on using embedded RFID/NFC/QR identification to track products throughout the supply chain. All products are chipped in such a way as to provide secure, tamper-proof recording of the quality and authenticity of products. At any point during a product’s lifecycle users can interact with its tag to find information. Applications include anti-counterfeiting, food safety, distributed data storage and inventory tracking/logistics. VeChain’s sensor technology can also record information related to temperature and humidity, providing value-add beyond a simple product code.

The Chinese government has chosen VeChain as the blockchain technology partner for the government of Gui’an, an economic-development zone directly controlled by the Central Government, for the purposes of e-government systems. If successful, it is highly likely that these systems could be scaled nationally. Remember the power of the Chinese domestic market: Chinese consumers use WeChatnot WhatsApp, Baidu not Google, and Alibaba, not Amazon. For blockchain, the Chinese government has officially designated VeChain as its partner. Draw your own conclusions

What I have learned in crypto from being here since 2014, is that fundamentals don't generally matter as much as hype.
VeChain is a chink shitcoin. Unironically IOTA will be able to do everything that VeChain can do but WAY WAY WAY more efficient. But VeChain has had plenty of hype, and IOTA hasn't had as much. And hype, is what drives parabolic moves. Then with a bunch of network effect because of the hype, it becomes hard to ever get rid of them. Just look at XRP.
Same thing with PLENTY of other projects that are competing in a certain space. The project with the most hype, will generally come out on top. Now sometimes, strong fundamentals can trigger a hype, like with LINK. But in general, this is why we have loads of absolute shitcoins in the top 100. Plenty of good projects too, but there are at least like like 25+ projects in the top 100, that are literally only there because they created hype, but are otherwise complete shitcoins, like VeChain.

Okay. I hear y'all.

Therefore I'll put VET in the XRP-like category. Companies that will be successful but where the token is an absolute joke and isn't correlated at all with the value created.

SCAM. Hasn't done nothing for 3 1/2 years but is now being manipulated to try to make retards FOMO in. Common technique in centralized scam coins during the bull run and most of this does not end well where you get dumped on holding bags.
