There is no right answer for this. Mostly personal preference and security vs. convenience.
Hot storage (with Spark support) - XUMM or Exodus.
Cold storage - Ledger/Trezor or Paper/Metal Wallet
Do not use Droplet wallet, it is a scam.

So the SEC is claiming XRP is a commodity rather than a currency, my question is how can the US dollar be considered a currency when it values is essentially based on oil prices (petrodollar). I apologize in advance if this is a stupid question, I've been a carpenter my whole life and new to investing so not educated in these matters, yet also understand education and indoctrination go hand in hand.

XSG..
I honestly think that this is what should happen.

Why not combine Ripple and XRP into one entity.
Ripple (company) / XRP Stock ticker.
Make the SEC case about clarity on how to bring a crypto asset onto the stock exchange.

That will also sort out what to do with all the XRP (shares) that Ripple owns.

Does this not make a lot of sense?

Rest easy this Christmas night, dear friends and fellow schizos. The year is closing out, and news will come. We inch our way through the days, sparking and jumping at every price shift. Fret not. It is all in motion, building up pressure, strength, velocity and waiting for the point of critical mass to erupt like a juicy brap betwixt the cheeks of your favored brapbroad. As you will know nothing of her earthy aroma (which will NOT make you projectile vomit into her pussy), so will the world be inundated with news of XRP and the new standard.

Lots of reasons. First, while certain coins gravitate toward tribalism and stupid team sport mechanics, XRP is the worst. Which is to say that XRP investors, of the sort that you find on this board, are very much "My coin wins, your coin loses" minded. The only people that like dealing with that attitude are people who want to play that game, like console war /v/rigins and hard core sportsball faggots.

Second, when you try to have a real discussion about the cons and pitfalls of the investment, Ripple, and the like you are met with a either the sportsfans above or muh schizo. Schizos are beyond fucking obnoxious and impossible to talk to. You bring up points 1, 2, 3 and they start talking about universal vibrations and other inconsequential non-sequitur shit. Then, to make it even more irritating, they play the wise sage card and passive-aggressively talk about how you'll understand when you're enlightened. All the while ignoring everything that's being raised.

Third, they are evangelical. How many times have you seen a post talking about whether or not """we""" should go post about this on /pol/ or some other board? How many times have you seen a post talking about how to talk to family, friends, or SO about this and convert them? It is the exact same tenor as religious evangelism and most people really dislike proselytizing. At best it reeks of pajeet-tier pump and dump hype generation, at worst its like the worst parts of religious contagion.

Finally, XRP runs directly contra to what cryptocurrency was created for: decentralized, anonymized financial transactions. There are people that are all in on defi and the anonymized economy and XRP doesn't allow for that. Oh sure, there are elements built in for DeFi but there can't be any anonymity with XRP. XRP is a bankers coin, so it requires KYC and that is a threat to people that value an anonymous, decentralized internet.

This general and the """XRP army""" deserves every bit of hate and derision thrown its way. Every. Bit. Of it.

I say this as someone who wholly believes in the project. I say this as someone who is in the top 3% of hodlrs. Blow it off if you like, toss some new age horseshit or tired memes my way if it makes you feel strong, but you wanted to know why XRP gets the reaction that it does online and, well, here it is.

The other thing, you're right. However, if we go by logic whats going to happen in your opinion?

SEC drops the lawsuit and realizes that, like you said, XRP is a "banker coin". You think they will stop there? I think they will go after the whole DeFi craze because a lot of people are getting Rug'd, theres a lot of fraud, a lot of shitcoins pumping and we never hear of them anymore.

There is always talk of xrp being a bridge asset.

There is a world of Defi for all of the wild west stuff.

There has to be look regulation. Do you know how many rugs there were during the Defi craze?

XRP is like a bridge for the institutional world to get involved. Tockenized businesses. This all needs an extremely cohesive foundation.

Things go digittal over night will cause panick. What does Grandma do?

The user end has to be no different than what people are used to with online banking.

People will start to explore outside of ISO over time.

Who would invest in backing mortgages in crypto if it wasnt regulated?

Its not all or nothing on or the other.

Its about balance and bridging.

Thoughts?

basically the talented and gifted education program was a glowing psyop run by Tavistock based on research done after WW2 where the US realized it was falling behind Russia and China in identifying "gifted" individuals
https://commons.trincoll.edu/edreform/2012/05/tracing-the-relationship-between-the-needs-of-a-country-and-gifted-education/
The modern-day Talented and Gifted/GATE programs are outgrowths of this research, with some people on 4chan suggesting that these programs had as a secondary objective the identification and classification of individuals based on their personality types, with certain kids (smart but obedient) selected for prominence in government, industry, or academia, and other kids (smart but anti-authoritarian) being singled out for other purposes (some nebulous idea that they will play a role in the crash of civilization and rebuilding after the crash)

Individuals belonging to the second class (smart but anti-authoritarian) tend to gravitate on 4chan and other anti-censorship social media imageboards, which has given rise to /GATE/ general on /pol/ /x/ and other chans. Many anons in these threads took part in similar talented and gifted programs, and the thesis is that for some reason (political, spiritual, or schizophrenic/confirmation bias) we have been drawn here as part of a method of wealth transfer so that we can play a role in the future evolution of mankind, as we overcome tribalism, inequality and corruption and make our way towards our destiny among the stars and greater community of life in the Milky Way galaxy.

Here is a little more information on Tavistock, the shadowy psychology/mindwar think tank that was behind the 1960s counterculture, psychedelics, psychic research, and GATE
https://larouchepub.com/eiw/public/1996/eirv23n22-19960524/eirv23n22-19960524_024-tavistocks_imperial_brainwashing.pdf

idk man i just see pretty clearly that XRP (and XLM and ALGO) are going to be three of the coins that benefit the most from the incoming wave of regulation, because they were made by and for the regulators and regulating class, and I want as many regular people to benefit from this knowledge as possible because I want people to be rich and happy

>>25162552
this is true, and imo the best FUD against XRP and other ISO20022 digital assets- essentially, they are going to form the framework of the coming dystopian technocratic surveillance state. I am an idealist, and i believe in the decentralized, democratic vision of economics underlying projects like BTC, ETH and XMR, and recognize how XRP represents something fundamentally antithetical to that vision.

At the same time, I can read the writing on the wall, and understand how macroeconomic/geopolitical factors (namely CCP controlling the majority of BTC/ETH mining and their reliance on tech that consumes a lot of energy) mean that in the short term (1 month-5 years) BTC and ETH will probably take a hit. They will take a hit whether or not I am invested in them, and whether or not I post about them on the internet.

Meanwhile, it's clear as day to me that XRP will appreciate in value as it is inextricably linked with this Great Reset bullshit, for which the COVID-19 psyop (essentially the biggest mass initiatory ritual since 9/11) was deployed. A key part of this transition meme that the elite are trying to force on us is the shift to digital currency, which will be built on XRP (and XLM and ALGO). Because I possess this knowledge, I can benefit from it. /XSG/ is the main way I can share this knowledge, so others can benefit from it as well. There's nothing tribal about it at all- I want DeFi to win, I want BTC and ETH to thrive, I just see how they will not. So I keep researching XRP and sharing what I find.

Also /XSG/ is filled with smart, funny individuals who I resonate with. Good place to shitpost.

There is zero chance for the anonymous, privacy oriented future that I and other people hoped for. People do not care enough and are willing to push all in on comfort and convenience even at the cost of autonomy and privacy. As such, there is zero chance for the anarchocapitalists dream of anonymous transactions and crypto. You might see some of it on the small scale, but the push for financial transparency and KYC is not going to slow down at all. At all. Eventually there will definitely be national, and perhaps supranational, digital currencies. I think that XRP / Ripple is in the right place at the right time to be that foundation.

However.

There are plenty of other instances of people, institutions, and technologies that were seemingly in the right place at the right time but were instead too early, even if only just. If you do not recognize that as a problem with XRP, then you are deluding yourself. If you run around making stupid claims -- 2k EOY/EOD -- and will not accept that you might be wrong, you are deluding yourself and misleading others. There are plenty of people who are, for lack of a nicer way to put it, sheep who just go along with the loudest voice.

So I think that XRP has a chance to pull through this but I'd be lying if I didn't say I wasn't concerned. This is especially true as I'm an American and Biden couldn't be more pro-China, and pro-BTC by proxy then, if he blew Xi live simulcast on MSNBC and CNN. I don't know what will happen but I know there are real roadblocks ahead and the likelihood that we see resolution within the next 3 months of all this, let along the moon that we're all hoping for, is very slight.

I do not trust magic posters. I do not trust """insiders"""" and """experts""" who never produce their bona fides but who always manage to come out after an event has happened and proclaim that, from a certain point of view, they were really right all along. I loathe the cult of personality that exists around namefags in this general, as it just makes it easier to dupe people who either cannot or will not DYOR.

tl;dr - I don't know what will happen, anons. I think XRP has a good shot at being the service and product we're hoping for, but I also know that there's a solid chance that won't happen.

This makes a lot of sense to me. Three kids in my class who were total NPCs but smart left a year early to go to college, I got given weird hearing / vision tests, ritalin, and made to do my exams in a separate room alone. The smart but troublesome kids get the MK ULTRA drugging, the rest get the easy ride.

Also tribalism and inequality are part of the natural order and until we stop trying to overcomes them and embrace them we won't be exploring any stars.

You are right in that the XRPL and Ripplenet will kill off anonymity in transactions- but I submit (and I have nothing to back this up) that nothing on the internet is anonymous anyway. Even if you are using Tor, Tails and Monero, unless you are Ultra Leet NSA Haxxor dude who takes extraordinary precautions, you can be traced, especially in the age of ubiquitous cameras and digitized everything. So anonymity doesn't really exist. I think it's an illusion to make people feel better- things like Signal and Monero and Tor, all can be compromised, not through the programs themselves but the traces people leave before and after using the programs.

DeFi, well, that's where Flare and Flare Finance come in. If you haven't read up on these products, please do, because in my opinion they represent the biggest technological step forward mankind has taken since the development of smartphones, and possibly since the development of social media or email or a unified http internet protocol. Flare is going to be bigger than XRP no question, and Flare Finance represents the maturation of the DeFi tech that we saw debuted earlier this year during the DeFi summer, only without the rugpulls and buggy code. DYOR but I think these products represent the coming of age of some aspects of the promise of cryptocurrency and decentralized finance, and contain within them the seed of mankind's liberation (pic related)

I got back into investing this year. I traded pretty heavily in my 20s, made a bunch, lost a bunch, and got burned bad enough that I walked away for a good long while. This year gave me the time and funds to get back into things, and I ended up getting interested in ISO20022 coins due to some general browsing and related research.

>>25163079
>ISO20022
Yeah, as hinted at above I'm pretty bullish on those assets. I used to hold XDC and Iota, but traded those for XRP on the latest dip. Now I'm down to XRP, XLM, and ALGO. I think they're good assets.

>Great Reset bullshit
It's horrible, no doubt about it. I think that or something like it is the direction we're moving in. People are just, I hate to use the term, too asleep to notice it and what it means. I mean, look how many young people are clamouring, outright calling, for billion-dollar multinational corporations to censor free speech? Absolutely mind boggling.

The best I can think to do is set myself up in some way that I can accumulate money and power, so I can use it to push back where I can, in small degrees, I have a PAC in mind I want to build if we moon, and just help out what remains of the lower and working class. I hate where we're going, but that doesn't mean that I'm not going to prepare for it.

checked and yes you are right, this is the thing about paranoia of any kind- they are unbearably self-centered and inherently narcissistic. to think that the CIA is watching you presumes that you are worthy of being watched, which in most cases simply isn't true. why would these shadowy organizations really devote so much time and energy to somehow suppressing a bunch of gifted kid burnouts? it simply doesn't make sense- unless they know something we don't.

as with all things conspiracy, it is important to maintain healthy skepticism and a sense of humor. Assume that everything you read is bullshit written by crazy people, and never lose your ability to laugh- at yourself, at others, and at this absurd experience we call life- as you travel down the rabbit hole. otherwise you run the risk of going really crazy, and that's no fun.

Thinking that a thread about internet money on an internet forum for pictures of naked cartoon girls is somehow some kind of intelligence agency operation is literally insane, just like paying attention to repeating numbers on a post, much less thinking that the intelligence agencies are using advanced technology to make sure they get repeating numbers to draw attention to certain posts. You'd have to be really crazy to believe something like that- and a total fucking schizo fucking loser burnout who needs to take their meds and shut up because they are worthless fuckup nerds who society has rejected and above all else if you believe something like that you shouldn't believe that you have within you the seed of divinity which is your connection to the eternal creator and that by connecting with other schizo you could potentially change the world and change the course of history from a dystopian future where a small minority enforces their will on the rest of the world to a future where power is shared equitably and people are governed by consent, with compassion.

Not anymore anyway. Man, I miss the internet of the 90s. The shit was the real deal, the wild west in space that we always dreamed of. It was horrible, clunky and beautiful and we won't see its like again, I'm afraid. Still, there are people that want that back and think there's a way to do it. I just don't think you can unring the bell of massive online government and corporate tracking. There's too much will and inertia pushing for that money and power, too little will pushing back against it. The best we can do is see the infringements we see and push back against those as best we can.

>Flare, et al
I'm all in on that shit, friend. I'm very curious to see how that all pans out. For lack of a better way to put it, that's the neatest future'ish scifi thing I've seen in a while and, while there are real dangers there, I think it'll be very powerful and interesting if it's implemented they way they describe.

I'm sure there are those that realize it but will keep fighting for it. At this point I think the better bet is to be zen or some shit and jiu jistu that momentum away from you. You're not gonna stop the beast, but maybe you can redirect some of the momentum when it heads your way.

I had a theology prof once talk about pride and how it can manifest as a self-esteem thing. Someone with low self esteem walks into the room and assumes that everyone is talking about him, when in reality nobody is paying attention to him at all. It's just pride saying that he's so important that of course people are gossiping about him, even if it's bad gossip.

I We hold the same assets, and I'm interested in forming a PAC as well (focused on funding populist candidates who cross party lines to make reforms which will directly benefit working class voters- along the lines of the nascent People's Party) as well as starting to get more involved in local politics. I work in harm reduction i.e. handing out clean needles, naloxone and condoms to people who use drugs or do sex work to stop the spread of HIV Hep C and overdoses, but my organization finds itself hamstrung by lack of funds. If I make a couple mill the first thing I'm going to do is fund programs like mine. >I'm interested in forming a PAC as well . . .
Very similar to what I have in mind, though I'm planning on being a bit focused in my approach. Life experience and all that. Good to see that there are others thinking about these sorts of things.

>we will see the re-emergence of decentralized, smaller, purpose-driven intranets
You're starting to see some of that now with specialized social-media, and social-media adjacent, websites. If Facebook and Twitter are the public square, think private clubs where you have to be a member to go inside and do what you do. There are two problems, difficulties if you like, with these emerging services. One, they often cater to people who have been unpersoned and digitally disenfranchised on larger social media sites. This means a lot of people on the fringes. This makes it very easy to label them as extremists and then push financial companies and internet infrastructure companies to get rid of them. That's particularly galling, as the whole reason for those sites is the cajole of "If you don't like it, make your own site" that you get when discussing unfair practices in social media moderation and speech censorship. The other issue is that you get parallel economies. Instead of everyone getting together, mingling ideas and doing commerce together, you get the X Economy and the Y Economy and it becomes a sort of dual reality. Look at how people consume news media now and then project forward 5 to 10 years and think how bifurcated things will be. That's not good.

>that's a good point
Funny. It was that professors wife who pointed it out to the prof. He had social anxiety and she pointed out that nobody is talking about him because nobody knew him, just relax. He was a smart cat, deep as well, so he figured the Pride angle as well.

>high expectations
I get that. I get that in spades. My life is not what I wanted, but it is what it is. You have to face up to that otherwise you forever sideline yourself.

It's now defunct and those kids that weren't picked up post-graduation have similar experiences of life-- generally very bad luck by way of chronic illness derailing careers, traumatic injury, sudden onset mental illness, etc. Now they find they have gathered here, in this place, at this moment, believing XRP will be the central fixture of the new world. - they use ODL, but also use traditional FX channels
- they have never used ODL for direct transfers of customer funds (i.e. they use it to send their own money (also note though that is to be expected - cash is fungible, so any money they send is theirs)).
- they’ll continue to monitor the situation.

The press on this has been typical media lies.

I've seen it. There's real inertia behind investing and money-making hype, particularly when it's by people that you trust, or think you can trust. There's also the insidious trap of buying into your own genius. You make a series of good, smart moves and somehow you get it into your head you're invincible and you go all in on a long shot and, whoops, turns out you aren't the golden child you thought you were.

anon, i have found one thing: when life seems most overwhelming and things have come to a dead end, right when everything seems hopeless, that's when the universe will open a new door for you. life is a test, and as long as you don't give up, you will continue to grow and progress. it requires effort on your part though- you can't expect God/the Universe to do things for you, you have to work together.

don't kill yourself. the universe put you here for a reason. stick around, keep grinding away. things will get better.

and 27 year old NEET with no work experience isn't that bad, you still have 3/4 of your life left. you could go to school and start a new career by 30 and be ahead of most of your generation. find something you care about or are good at and start working at it.

The people i tried to convince now won't listen to reason and just laugh when i try to show them proof. It was never about XRP killing all other coins. Just stomp on Proof of work scams that benefit china. I was also taken to study to a different country but that is common in the UK. You can see so many people jumping at the opportunity to bash XRP without even looking into how it works. The typical "Ripple controls 60%" bullshit.
