More liquidity on balancer would be how you improve the wSta/Sta pair on Uniswap. It would allow the balancer pool(s) to make bigger transactions which would result in it using more wSta bringing it out of line with Sta, driving more volume through the wSta/Sta pool as they line back up.

Its not gimmicky staking where you are actually locking your tokens, you are free to move them anytime. That said there is gas, slippage, and token burn to account for so if you do something like pool then unpool 10 minutes later your stack would be smaller.
The best strategy and what is worth is in flux a little right now because the ecosystem is in the middle of a major change.

The team solved the liquidity issue. Now there is still the issue of low volume. The idea is to use wSTA in Balancer pools in order to create price fluctuation so that it ripples over to the STA/wSTA Uniswap pool where it would create volume, fees and burn. Perhaps the volume will be fixed when deploying new pools, perhaps it will take off with marketing.
