in terms of wanting to just do your music,
you don’t need studio time. you need to get your ass out on the street, busk, use your smartphone to record some demos, put that shit on soundcloud and share it, you need to play open mics, you need to get at least of following of 20 people and then leverage that to book opening gigs at clubs for larger acts.

NOTHING is stopping you from getting out there and playing music. If your city doesn’t have a good music scene, move. Go to LA or New York or Nashville.

I’m a former heavy rock musician, formerly with a signed band (Sumerian records) and man, the music industry is a fucking shit show nightmare. Of every 100$ my band ‘made’ we saw only $55 of it THEN had to split 4 ways. And we had a much better than average contract that took 2 weeks of negotiations.

Join the army or airforce for military intelligence. You will get a security clearance that will guarantee your lowest paying job is 70k. You will also get the GI Bill. Three years as an intelligent contractor (after your enlistment) and you'll be making 6 digits. Your welcome, pretty much anybody can do it.
