I can't see how the Zeus crew aren't going to jail in a couple of years time, and I also can't see how they don't seem to be aware of that possibility.
The SEC literally said they were going after people who were trying to manipulate the market through "news", and on top of that Zeus is impersonating a real UK company, which is straight fraud.
They have basically stuck their neck out to be the test case for that sort of SEC prosecution. Maybe they're tech geniuses behind 500 proxies but I feel like far smarter people than them have been caught before.
