Link is in a much different position than XRP in that it is actually used to secure large value contracts creates large amounts of money that gets taxed etc. Is link a security is a really old debate and the SEC guys have been at many chainlink events confirming that it is not. XRP on the other hand does not have value and has always been a security used only for the purposes of enriching early investors.

people place way too much faith in the individuals behind the coins. if there's valid cause for investigation, they're fucked regardless of leadership. it's unlikely it'll be any time soon - if at all, perhaps when/if link ever rockets again they'll look into it

Why Link? Why not any other coin? The fact is that XRP has clearly been a scam for a long time. The fact that the SEC is going after XRP and not Link is a huge bull flag for Link.
