because it offers literally everything ETH does (it's 100% compatible with its tokens, toolings, EVM, etc) but faster (4500 TPS, sub-seconds finality) and cheaper (no gas fees, fees are just fractions of a cent).
i'm not saying it'll kill ETH, but it's definitely a better option, tho both projects have different objetives, thus pretty different markets.
