I wouldn't be - the price of iron is going higher, for more months out
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9062419/Chinas-trade-war-helping-Australia-iron-ore-prices-expected-stay-higher-longer.html
Australians are going to keep iron price high
The accident was on the slope of one of their deactivated mines - it's not going to impact production whatsoever
https://g1.globo.com/mg/minas-gerais/noticia/2020/12/18/talude-cai-sobre-maquina-que-operava-perto-da-barragem-da-vale-que-se-rompeu-em-brumadinho.ghtml
Translated to English:
"In a note, Vale confirmed that there was a landslide on a slope in the mine's deactivated pit."

It's bad press, but shit happens. 15,000+ people die a year in mining - as long as their production is not impacted it'll be fine
There may be a dip pre-market, but I do not think it will last
1 death is not worth billions of dollars in market cap
Imo Friday there was so little news out about the accident, only Brazilian articles several paragraphs long - so investors read the headline "Landslide at Brumadinho" and were like OMG it's another dam disaster all over again SELL SELL SELL!! but then everyone realized "Oh wait, it was one guy in a bulldozer doing maintenance on the slope of one of their deactivated pits.."

I would buy the dip if there is one - a great buying opportunity on a short-term dip driven by the news while fundamentals are only growing stronger (the price of iron higher + Australian Chinese conflict escalating)
The only reason why the story is notable is because it happened near the Brumadinho 2019 site - Brazilians are still upset over that industrial disaster, so any fuck ups VALE makes get a lot of media coverage for the clicks/views
41 people die everyday in mining accidents - we do not hear their stories. Mining is a brutal business.

I dated a chick in college with severe OCD. She was fucking gorgeous, blond hair blue eyes. I mean I saw her organizational skills as actually an attractive feature, but the fucking literal panic attacks she'd have and anxiety levels how her brain got her body to fucking do that kind of shit to her... It was like the relationship didn't last long since we knew we know our values were polar opposites very early, she being very liberal and me being a libertarian, or as I like to say now closet republican. I forgot the rrest of your post or where I was going with this, but uhh fuck. I mean I ran into her a few times over the years, and we actually can still have conversation that lasts more than 2 sentences since she is actually pretty intelligent and able to form her own opinions on any matter, but she's still single.. which is sad, she had one of the most beautiful bodies... shit I should call her when I sober up tomorrow.

They 3D print human organs and tissues for medical research and organ transplantation. This sounds like all the other crappy biotech but what caught my eye is ARK bought some shares in it, the last holding in ARKK and ARKG is ONVO. If Cathie Wood see something in them and is willing to buy a few shares than it is worth the risk but expect to hold for 10+ years.

Bond bubble = fiat bubble which feeds the rest
The fact the USD still has any value at all when the fed has to directly buy bonds from treasury auctions to keep up with debt demand is actually pretty fucking ludicrous. When the fiat bubble bursts everything else will come crashing down too.
It didn't have to be this way but unfortunately a bunch of internet nerds working for the US government have decided it's easier to just crash the old system and implement a retarded zero sum transhumanist currency rather then just fix the old system.

oh shit you're right... where the fuck are the flowers, what the fuck was I doing? sorry i was dreaming about the future of cookwares.. like i mean i got a wok, i got a wok with a flat base but what i really like is my gf... she uses all kinds of bullshit that shouldn't be legal, but since it can plug in she can literally cook with electricity and not have to use flames or propane... now these are the same methods used in ovens, and ovens are really good. like there's probably something fundamentally we can do to an oven to make it better, like pre-heat faster or make it larger to give you more finished product... i uhh don't even think a faster pre-heating oven is that much of a good thing though... take it practically for a minute... you get home from the store and have all the ingredients. setting the oven to a temp and leaving it is easy to do, and while it pre-heats you do 10000 things. i mean compartmentalized ovens exist and are used in industrial, restaurant applications all over the world. they are used, but very specific specs... since they're made once, they can be made again, and probably cheaper than the first, but to really revolutionize the world of cooking we need a product that is so simple even the most retarded person can pick it up and understand it's use...

Bong here.
Does anyone have an opinion on BT?
Their main problems I believe are:
-Need a lot of investment to upgrade networks
-They already have a lot of debt

But with the Bank of England set to announce negative interest rates, that should be a big bonus for BT, am I right?

Especially as I think demand for bandwidth and reliable internet connection is only increasing as remote work becomes the new IN THING, as well as cloud computing, which if many people begin relying on remote machines, will be very bandwidth intensive, which could incentivise people to pay for more.

Work going out of business would have been no problem so long as the competitors were still afloat. Now hours cut, look at similar position with competitors, NOBODY hiring, everybody equally fucked.

It's a play that traders will board the Ackman train once he decides on the company to merge with. Once news has been released, you'll see a HUGE pump. Then investors will start to jump on in once hype dies down. The company Ackman chooses will likely be great in the long term.

Would you rather have Kevin O'Leary on your business's side or against?
Would you rather have Kevin O'Leary giving your company free publicity, saying you're a great company with a lot of potential, or saying that your company is terrible and that no one will invest?
Be real with yourself
Bill Ackman opened shorts and then went on TV to preach gloom and doom - turning $26 million into $2.6 billion
Ackman is a shark - he has been in the industry for years. If you think you are better than Ackman, you are a retard - no one in /smg/ can compete with Ackman. Learn from him so that one day you can be the shark.

The whole thing about PSTH is that Ackman believes that since they will just be buying a smaller % of equity, they will not be seeking a controlling interest, and therefore the business will less price sensitive in the deal (offering a better deal for PSTH investors)

Also, why put all your trust in sharks? they fuck people over and everybody cheers when they do. I'm still considering PSTH but it's risky because you are trusting a guy like Ackman who would gladly fuck up his SPAC to make money if that is what it took. Through an unclaimed property search, I realized my grandmother (died 1995) has 48 shares from a Mutual Fund that was once Smith Barney and is now owned by Primerica. How can I find out which it might be? I can't imagine there's too many that fit those criteria. Must be 30 plus years old.

>trusting a guy like Ackman who would gladly fuck up his SPAC
wat? Ackman isn't going to cannibalize PSTH / there's no scenario where he would benefit from PSTH going under. Worst case scenario, if the SPAC fails / isn't able to find a merger in 2 years investors would get $20 back

You're still not getting it - the dollar is going to collapse - DXY is going to keep going lower
"they" are creating a crisis of the currency, where people lose faith in the dollar, so that then "they" can institute the new currency system
It will be an event like Bretton Woods or 1971 gold standard ending
You posted here:
>>24968268
"the dxy has never been this low oh wait zoom out"
You're looking at the dollar dying as "oh it's just part of the cycle it will go back up"
No. This is part of the new global economic system "they" are trying to usher in
Watch Gregory Mannarino's videos on YouTube and also The Hidden Secret's of Money series to learn more
The markets are going to keep going higher, the DXY is going to keep going lower, and eventually, there will be a new digital dollar

Likely Stripe.

Ackman has been known to be shady...however you have to think logically.

NKLA at one point was 90. Ackman sees $$$ in this point in time with everyone getting into SPAC's lately. It would benefit him a whole lot more merging with another company.

ON top of all this. If PSTH doesn't find someone to merge with, you're bottom is at $20. Almost a no-lose situation.

I'd like to flip that, staking rewards are more like dividends, but for crypto. But in general, you're correct. Although dividends are paid to you from earnings from the company, whereas staking rewards are literally just conjured up out of thin air.

What are you talking about? All I have advocated for is that the markets are going to go higher, and that you should position yourself to come out on top after the inevitable occurs
I am not complaining about the system
I am just saying what is (likely) going to happen, and to go long in the market

x86 is dead
ARM and RISC-V are the story in microprocessors for the next 10 years.
CISC based architecture is archaic in a world where memory is cheap enough to make vastly more efficient RISC based chips which can run on lower power, meaning less thermal throttling, and longer battery life.

Apple macbooks are the first major consumer grade laptops that have made the shift to ARM based chips, after ditching intel, and the Air model doesn't even have a fan, meaning there wont be dust problems either. A laptops biggest killer. This means new laptops are probably also going to live longer than older laptops did too, which will be a dampener on demand for all chips.

AMD are already in the process of developing ARM chips, although obviously behind apple who have raced ahead of everyone else.

Intel are a long way behind in this race. It's believed they will go for the RISC-V approach rather than ARM, but it will take many years for this development to play out, and in that time, AMD and Apple will have eaten their lunch big time.
