You find a chart.
You some draw lines how you see fit.
Get creative with it.
Draw a slope connecting the recent peaks.
Draw a straight line connecting the recent lows.
You could even start randomly off the chart, but always remember to have the line point heavily up, down, or have 2 lines converge somewhere.
Most importantly make sure you post it like 5 times here, stocktwits, and other places you think people care about your opinions.

No, that's what happened if you all in at the top and never bought the dip.
If you bought the dip, yes your original port got nuked but your new stocks were gaining that entire time.
Only wrench in the works is it was hard to get a job in the 30s, but if you managed to get work and put some money in stocks you were gaining the entire time.
Buy every dip, even bull traps.

Im really sure of my pick. If im right I walk away with a 2x at least, however I could stand to 3x off my choice. Wish i was good at timing when to buy during a crabbing point to maximize profits. I've come to the conclusion that when I'm researching stocks at 4 AM all I'm actually doing is trying to predict the future and no matter how much I obsess over it I can't control the stock price.

a lot of people think (read: think) that the PLTR story is over because the IPO hype has died down. /biz/ has a short memory and chases what's gonna happen in the next week, maybe month, maybe quarter. Also the FUDers on here get pretty slick.

As such, personally, I do have a position in PLTR but it's going to be a slow melt upwards. Next earnings will be good, and the next, and the next, but it's going to come with volatility that's gonna be a slow melt upwards to 100 over the next 2-3 years. /biz/ doesn't necessarily have the patience for that, but that's a good thing, because it means this place spits out a few decent picks every week.

if it dips Monday pre-market, BUY.
Iron is now being priced at these ATH prices for months out now, with no signs of it changing (Australians are saying it's going to stay high - Aussies dictate the price of iron as the largest exporters)
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9062419/Chinas-trade-war-helping-Australia-iron-ore-prices-expected-stay-higher-longer.html
The thing about this accident is that it happened near the Brumadinho mining site. If it had happened anywhere else, it wouldn't even be on our radar / wouldn't have been reported on. It's just because people in Brazil are still upset over the dam disaster, and to have someone die again there = sensational stories about how VALE is the bad guy
15,000+ people die a year globally in the mining industry - sure it's a tragedy the guy died - but is one guy dying worth billions of dollars in market cap? Hell no
None of us are worth that much
I'm not sure what to think - the news coming out / iron prices going up for months out is EXTREMELY bullish for VALE, they will be able to have the best profits on the record high iron prices until late next year, possibly even longer
However.. in the short-term.. market makers might dump it, even if it's just pre-market on Monday

I plan on holding through the volatility - at the end of the day, people die working in mines. It's a dangerous business. Shit happens

Bought shares and calls around $2. Cost basis is below $2 when factoring in premium from covered calls I sold. I did forget to buyback the ones I sold before the weekend though, so hopefully bitcoin doesn't gap up too hard over the weekend but I'll buy them back at a loss if I have to.

MARA had a 10% weight total for both shares and calls when I bought them a bit over a month ago and now they're weighted over 35%. I sold off my losers yesterday and bought calls right at open and am up 20% on those.

If you do plan on buying back in, just slowly average in. Remember it still is basically a penny stock, but it is going much, much higher. I have 2 scenarios: a price target of between $15-$20 in the short term or holding till mid 2021 and re-evaluating from there. Judging from studying the bitcoin graphs around December, bitcoin will probably crab at this range for the rest of the year until the new year. Letting RSI cool off and all that gay shit. However, that all goes out the window if stimulus somehow gets passed, but I don't find that likely.

I believe pic related is what MARA's mining capabilities will be once they receive all their miners in 2021, but not entirely sure. At current prices, they'd be pulling in close to $350,000 per day. That will generate a pretty healthy EPS.

Just don't forget to take profits along the way. Think of MARA as trading bitcoin with 3x leverage, so if bitcoin dips hard, MARA will dip even harder. I just wish I bought more than 10 2023 $2 LEAPS. Those alone were up over 350% at the peak yesterday.

BITF.V is another crypto miner, but they're on the TSX. Not sure if they got an OTC ticker. People were talking about NXTD this week, but I have no idea what they even do if they're even a miner.
Here's a seeking alpha article for you to read in for some MARA research:

was looking through some DD since it was the weekend

>As aforementioned, I started with a company called Silent Witness back in 1992. I came up with a video device that records what was happening inside school buses to try to keep the driver’s eyes on the road. Thus, my background has been in security for quite some time.
>On the engineering side, when Honeywell bought Silent Witness, there was an engineering team that was nervous about the acquisition. I was successful in convincing those top engineers to join Gatekeeper.
so from what I understand all their effort the past few years are finally showing their fruit DESPITE covid wrecking everything right now

Silent Witness was a ticker that got bought out since they were doing so well
>https://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/honeywell-buy-boosts-silent-witness/article18432817/

I only have $2K in GSI.V right now since it's still essentially a volatile penny stock and there's still a lot of risk going into Q1, might just crab downwards if they didn't snatch a new contract yet. But fuck, it's tempting as fuck to drop another 2 grand into this if it dips back to 60 cents. Penny stock volatility is scary though, going up +8% then down -8% the next day is like the norm

1. Wall st prices in different earnings than what is formally "expected", you can beat earnings and drop value on the stock itself.

2. Of course a positive earnings leading to the stock increasing in value could outweigh IV, that is literally why there is IV and what gives the option its value retard.

3. There is less IV crush (relative to the total amount of IV) post earnings on a longer dated option, yes.

VALE sells iron, not steel (although they are developing a steel mill for 2022 I think.. I could be remembering that wrong)
I'm confident as the market for iron ore is only getting stronger - because the price of steel is high, all the steel producers want to produce as much as possible (so they buy more iron)
The macroeconomic reason why the metals are high is because every central bank in the world is printing currency to try to kickstart their economies / prevent widespread suffering. When you increase the money supply, but still have the same resources available (metals) the price of the resources goes up with more money chasing it = commodity bull run
On top of this, every country is looking to invest in infrastructure for fiscal policy, as it creates jobs, improves the country / helps facilitate trade - you need iron (and steel) in order to build infrastructure
VALE's economic report from June had them projecting their income based upon iron being ~$96 -- it's currently $150-160
Not only is the price $150-160, but it's being priced out for months and months. Before, it was assumed that rapidly in early 2021 the price of iron would fall.. however, after recent developments with the Australian China trade war, it's not going to happen.
The Australian government wants the price of iron to remain high as it's offsetting any losses from the barley / wine / coal embargo

You don't understand what's going on. All of the steel manufacturers are vertically integrated and mine their own ore. The reason why steel is so expensive is because there's a shortage of it. The shortage is due to covid shutdowns hampering production. Steel industry has a long supply chain from rock to finished product and the delays from covid, in tandem with practical logistics problems also brought by covid, has made steel to expensive for many producers to buy

Basically the people who normally buy steel are saying fuck it and shutting down operations rather than paying exorbitant steel prices. So now these vertically integrated entities spent all that money mining and processing and have fewer takers for their product. Which has resulted in a net loss in X's case

I fail to see why CLF or Vale will not suffer the same issue. I sold CLF and will probably be placing puts on it next week

Yes, and you *need* iron to make steel. Chinese buyers are now incentivized to buy from Brazilian iron producers VALE (the #2 producer in the world) instead of Australian producers, due to the trade war.
Every country on Earth will try to invest in infrastructure to get out of this crisis - they'll be thinking economics 101 'increase fiscal spending on infrastructure in a recession'. However, they don't have the money to do it, so their central bank will print currency and buy the iron/steel (driving up the price of iron)

I think you will see a stimulus pass. Mcconnel is looking to pass something in order to help the GA runoff, he doesn't need everyone but he's the kingpin of this whole operation and what he says goes.

Australia already provides most the iron ore, and brazil is having scaling problems, Australia is more reliable in the long run.

Don't you think it's odd there's mass did being spread by the media literally everywhere?
Seems like it's actually a good time to buy if anything.
Only thing is it seems like people on this board are incapable of averaging into anything or taking profit by selling partial positions.
They just fucking fomo into everything with 100% of their portfolio then sell when it drops 15% kek

I'm not investing in VALE for the long run, as I don't think the iron cycle will last into 2022 (but will continue strong through 2021)
They just re-opened the mine that had shutdown

I though the same with AAL watching it drop every day, sad. Many such cases. Hopefully stimulus will give it a kick up the jacksy.

It seems like recoveries are getting faster though, back then you had to baghold 2 centuries, last century only 40 years or so, now recoveries are quick.

Honestly, is Nokia a good buy? I keep reading about all these 5G deals they are making across Europe and I'm thinking the whole 5G thing will fly off as more and more antennas and people get phones that support it.
Nokia announced yesterday that it launched 5G services in Poland with Polkomtel. Also a 7-year deal in Luxembourg. all this past week

Not to mention nasa contracts and the tons of patents they own. Also, given the actual price you can get quite a lot of stocks.
