okay but when will this cryptocurrency stuff be an actual currency that I can use at a store and buy shit with?

>> No.24908561

It doesnt need to be. No one is going around with a sack of gold dropping down nuggets on the counter to pay for shit and yet gold has an extensive market history and a populace that places faith in it as a valueholder

When the Lightning network is fully up and working

Some silk road era oldfags will whinge about the lightning network not settling every transaction onchain, but you don't really need to have the overkill level of security that bitcoin has on its main chain for everyday transactions
I think the lightning network is already as secure now as an eth transaction was in early 2017, and still pretty decentralized

this.

I thought the point was to have a decentralized global currency powered by the people and not under the control of any singular government.

The world right now is looking for a proper store of value, not another payment network , which we already have plenty of viable options.

What site?
>crypto debit cards
Now we're getting somewhere. Not exactly paying with it directly, but it's a start. Glad to see there's options moving in that direction.

I accept crypto on my online stores, but no one uses it because of gas fees. Nobody wants to pay $5-10 (or even as much as $100 sometimes, lol) just to buy stuff under $50.
