Neither, 17 December 2017 was the exact date that btc peaked 3 years ago before all hell broke loose. Call me superstitious but it's a little weird isn't it? 1.5k green candle right to the day to put us at a new ATH on the third anniversary of the cusp of the legendary bloodbath that made crypto a meme?

Am I crazy? Or is this time really different?

It's too close, the chart looks too similar, the dates almost line up exactly.

First we start with that last weekend super low volume price increases then a 20% pump in one day. One day and on the date of the last peak.

There's a few other threads suggesting the tether rugpull is finally here on the back of Mnuchin's new regs. That's one way to explain it I guess, but I haven't seen any evidence of that -- just rumours.

Please tell me I'm just connecting dots that aren't there and that this won't be a repeat of 2017 coz fuck me I am on the verge of taking the black pill here...

Expect random -40% corrections to 21wema on the way up, but ultimately a massive bulltrend. By the time the bull market peaks and crashes it will be down to 50k so even if your fomoing now, as long as you keep it low risk you are very likely to be very smart money in a matter of an year.

In december of 2016 BTC rallied 15% after reaching and breaking the ATH of 2013. It then droped back down by 30% and what happened in 2017 is known to us all.
We're currently at roughly 20% above the old ATH of 2017. If we were to drop by the same amount as we did way back when we'd land exactly on the 21-W-EMA. But what happened 16 to 17 took several weeks. We're currently reaching new heights by the hour so I honestly don't fucking know if the situation is even comparable anymore.

I think most people know about bitcoin now but it's forever stuck in their heads as 'volatile=dangerous=scam'. It'll take some time, and a lot of headline about institutional adoption, before they start to take it seriously as anything more than kind of dangerous gambling thing.
I saw this tweet yesterday and was a bit taken aback at first. But then I realised that this is how lots of normies see bitcoin. Not only the ones who got stung in 2017, but anyone who first heard about it in the context of weak-handed faggots losing money.
This makes me think the large-scale normie buy-in will a lot later this time round. There's a lot of resistance to break down.
