The problem is that for juniors and mid tier miners to continue as a company (instead of being wholly absorbed by a bigger fish) the CEOs have to perpetually raise money and go on a bunch of media outlets as a stock promoter. If they didn't they would just slowly go out of business as the mine got depleted. I say in every thread that the majority of a mining portfolio should be professionally managed/in etfs and only buy quantitatively cheap convertibles and the like on the side.

Because of the previous bear market, all gold/silver related etfs are basically composed of only majors including in their "junior" versions.
Professionally managed just takes in fees when you can just buy the holdings of those major etfs anyway since most of them are composed in a similar fashion.
The real junior miner game will always be boom or bust but its not like in this current age you can't make educated guesses with large payoffs. Its just a matter of not making it a large part of your portfolio.

You can google junk silver markings for starters but for this piece I wasn't even that concerned about the markings because why even make something as beautiful as this if not from sterling? Also yeah remember to look for patina, it's all around old junk silver things. I bought this one via an online auction website and went in person to the guy who sold it. The man had silverware all around him, said he buys them from other auctions or from his buddies and sells with a profit. Had a nice 15min talk with him about silver items, he told me that patina is extremely important especially when selling to Russian oligarchs who buy these for the status value

MTA's operating costs are like 5% of revenue, so they have tons of cash to keep adding additional streams or royalties, and don't have to worry about individuals mines operating costs. The way I see it, they are a much better way to leverage the underlying asset price than the ETFs, and you still get the safety of it being a basket of companies under one umbrella

The job of the economist is to lie to the public.

The idea that the central banks are going to lose control and all the tinfoil hat preppers with gold and silver coins under their mattresses are going to be the new chads where women just throw themselves into their arms is pathetically stupid.

Krugman's a bitch and quite possibly a kiddly diddler but I suspect he knows what's really going on too. The things he says in public are meant to deceive. We're in an structurally deflationary environment where each decade normal people have less to spend and then the Fed can use that as an excuse to print out money and hand it to wall street.

Balance of trade is how much goods a country exports vs. how much it imports. If you import a lot of goods then at the same time you "export" a lot of money (to buy those goods, obviously). The whole world wants US dollars because they need it to buy oil, therefore the US has to export a lot of dollars or else other countries don't have enough dollars to buy oil with. In the process of exporting those dollars they have to import a lot of goods, which means domestic manufacturing is reduced in favour of overseas manufacturing. At some point basically all of it will have moved and the US imports everything they possibly could import and still the world requires more USD to buy oil with (since world GDP grows faster than US GDP), and that is basically the limit of the system I think.
But I'm really just parrotting what I read on Lyn Alden's website a while ago, go read it yourself https://www.lynalden.com/fraying-petrodollar-system

You're correct about lazy blacks, but you don't realize that USPS barely even handles mail at all. The list of USPS contractors that ACTUALLY fly/truck/unload/load the mail is really long. I work for one of them and all of them have different standards. The problem is that every single one of us are required to join a postal worker's union, which encourages everyone to be extremely lazy and get away with as little work as possible. One of my black co workers that no longer works with us told me, upon hearing about the tardiness policy said
"Sheeeit mane, so I can come in late like, every other week and be aight."
Also, the shop steward at our mail ramp is literally the laziest worker on the premises. He's a 6ft + tall black guy that's ripped, but takes like 3-5 breaks during his shift, which is only 4 hrs long.
So the issue isn't USPS employees, it's the contractors' employees, all of which have different hiring standards (which are extremely low across the board due to the unskilled labor the job requires), plus the fact that all the employees of those contractors are made members of the postal workers' union, which guarantees their job security if they're lazy and poor workers.
The USPS representative that stays at our ramp is literally the hardest worker on the ramp and works like he just did an 8 ball of coke, moving containers around and making phone calls to make sure everything goes smoothly
You're right that there's not a larger amount of mail coming. We get paperwork with the total mail weight each night, and it has not surpassed anything we've experienced earlier in the year. The problem is that we get crazy time frames. Mail coming in extremely late, extremely early, shortages of mail containers, resulting in late sorts, resulting in mail having to sit overnight

it's just a disaster right now

*multi-year bear market trend done
* favorable to republicans and dems
* green new deal is a meme, needs nuclear energy to actually be efficient [I live in California, brownouts are only going to get worse with the current shit tier grid]
* Emmanuel Macron endorsing Nuclear energy
* Space exploration
* UUUU in a unique position of being debt-free, in a partnership with DuPont (CC), and is increasing their exposure to other Rare Earth Elements (REE) even more than Vanadium like monozite. Maybe they'll buy Manganese X Corp and then sell manganese to Tesla for their new batteries, since Elon wants them to be majority manganese going forward since lithium is not (((environmentally))) friendly

Also if you're not priced out, always buy at least 1oz bullion. As for gold or silver, it's up to you. Gold is the safest inflation hedge in the world while silver is a bit of a speculative buy but could potentially boom harder than ever. My advice is get some gold first and then buy silver in smaller tranches (buying smaller gold bullion means you get fucked by premiums)
>Do coins have their own intrinsic value or should I just buy the generic kangaroo ones?
Not really unless we're talking about numismatics (collector value). You're buying the metal, not the coin so go for the lowest premium .999 you can get unless you want to have different kinds of coins for aesthetic reasons
>>24870517
Cost me about €2.7k with delivery and all. Was my first ever investment bar my apartment loan. Wish I had bought an ounce of gold and some silver on top of that instead but eh it is what it is, the coins are there for me in case of a hyper-inflation anyways, they'll probably help me a lot even if gold was the better choice

>Gold or silver?
A bit of both. Silver is historically cheap so maybe be overweight silver.
>Coins or bullion?
>should I just buy the generic kangaroo ones?
Whatever has the lowest premium
> Is it better to buy a few 1/10 oz coins or 1/2 ounce?
Larger size typically means lower premium, so pick the larger size.

Other nations need to conduct oil purchases with dollars. So every nation needs our cash, therefore we have had a massive influx of raw materials and goods etc. If this breaks down, the artificial demand for USD will not be necessary and China could demand other currencies or even barter for it's hard work/production. Also, much of the inflation we create ends up sitting in central banks and is exported out of the nation. If outsiders want to unload their dollars, they could end up flooding back into the United States, causing some issues. There are a lot more dollars out there than your little stack of cash sitting in your bank account. Best to stand out of the way as things unfold, hence the appeal of metals.

Peak oil met natural gas and fracking.
Uranium is capital intensive and also highly regulated/protected. It isn't that there aren't any resources out there (there is a fuckton in the earth's crust which is where Radon comes from) but the prices have been too low for too long for a lot of them to remain solvent.
Basically you have only a few producers that could meet demand and a handful of possible juniors that could come online if there was a shortage. It is remarkably clean for a commodity cycle based play.
I just think people are jumping the gun too early. Until you hit the shortage, uranium roughly tracks the markets.

I wouldn't know, that's a question for pan man, but compared to something that's deeply embedded into the bedrock that needs to be extracted (gold/silver/etc), then sure. The thing is, UUUU realizes they can't just stick to uranium. Plus the uranium industry is small and that's what they're associated with, but are trying to expand (hell they even fucking flat out said it multiple times). They could even get acquired by fucking XOM or some major energy company at some point in the future. All this meme coverage they're getting is great for the company too, since it unironically makes them want to live up to the hype. >> No.24874715

>>24874324
The problem with junk silver is LCS and bullion dealers never want to buy it for more than 90-95% of spot or around there. So this year you're buying junk silver with unprecedented premiums and still selling for less than spot.

Best way to sell junk silver is to list it privately *for spot*. Silver stackers usually jump at the chance to buy silver at spot.

moose is fantastic, its like beef but just better in so many ways. Elk is pretty good too. Took a moose with a native buddy of mine and his granddad, he hit the critter with his Sharps rifle too, I kind of want one of those now.

One moose can feed a few people for a winter, deep freeze some steaks and stewing meat and make burger / sausages with the rest.

not 100% how to describe it, moose usually has a bunch of different notes all at once, beef has some of them but its weaker compared to moose meat. Moose can be a lot tougher but it makes excellent stew meat or sausages. The one I ve never been a fan of was deer, never really had a liking to it ever. Same goes for fish like sockeye salmon.

Thanks a lot anon, you do some fine work too and are way better at the nitty-gritties and numbers than I am. When it comes to geology i'm retarded as well.

My strategy is that I have a circle of experts (below) I follow and trust, and when names appear and especially when they appear more than once I'll take looks at the companies, management, stories, market sentiment, newsflow, geology, geography etc. Once that`s all done I keep tabs on them and have to make my own decision eventually whether or not it`s a good buy. It's a top down styled approach, and there aren't that many really really good companies out there so eventually you start to know a lot of them and their stories pretty well.

I spend quite some time looking at the charts of companies as well using really basic indicators like Fibonaccis and RSI, and basic patterns like flags and cups. It helps that I have a "sitfolio" style portfolio with about 50 PM miners and 10 U miners. It's not a style for everyone though but it works well for me and mitigates risk tailored to my and my strategies' specific weaknesses. I hold a full-time blue collar job as well so I don`t actually have that much time, but I squeeze in any research I can, like listening to company interviews in the shower, listening to Macro in the car, etc.

>>24874907
If you`re looking for a sure and safe bet I`m a fan of Cameco, I own a small position as a bedrock style position. Also when institutions eventually pour in they`ll go for what`s liquid.

>Thanks a lot anon, you do some fine work too and are way better at the nitty-gritties and numbers than I am. When it comes to geology i'm retarded as well.
Huh, I was sure you'd be good at the numbers too. Wasn't it you who were the only one here who had ever heard of Moneta Porcupine (before I brought it up a few days ago)? One would think you are good at breaking down the numbers and understand how undervalued it is. As for geology, I'm still pretty bad myself. Trying to learn little by little.
>Your strategy
Ah I see. My style is a little bit different. I don't really like following others but I follow discussions and NRs and if something catches my eye I might prioritize researching that something. I like doing my own research the "bottom up" way and after doing my DD I like looking at what's being talked about in more detail to see if I've missed something or to reflect my own opinion of the company with the opinions of others. So I guess we have opposite strategies in a way. Not too big on following a lot of different sources either like you seem to do (that's an impressive list you've gathered there!), NRs, ceo.ca, 4chan and sometimes youtube and twitter are good enough for me.

As for charts, I'm not much of a TA guy either. I just draw some quick imaginary lines in my head and look at the shape of the chart, see if it looks oversold or very volatile or look at previous highs and try to find a resistance to break, that kind of stuff. 60 miners is an impressive list, I would want to have more than my current 10 holdings too but my bank account is slowing me down too much. Being poor limits my options so I really have to weigh these companies against each other. Would love to have more companies though, was about to get BRC last week but had to pivot for ME and I'm glad I did, soon I'll be up 100% already. I'm very heavily in gold miners too and would like to have Ag/base metals/U stonks too but I still don't have enough Au miners.

Yea i was the one who had heard of ME, but I didn't like the lack of marketting and retail or institutional hype despite the value so it was purely a chart trade for me. The chart was too coiled to resist, and I sold the explosive breakout. Looks like I sold early though and left a lot of money on the table, SHIT lol. It's funny though how two different styles led to the same company though. Congrats to you.

I by no means am some crazy TA guy either, but when I started larping around with the meme lines I was amazed at how the prices kept going where I thought they would, and how they'd bounce off lines going months and years back. This summer was outright glorious , I built some nice wealth moving money from one flag setup to another as the juniors popped off one by one. Come to think of it, it reminds me of right now as all the juniors are flagging with the top quality ones having broken out.

I don't make that much either, like I said I'm blue collar, but I've been actively saving every cent I can to invest without risking my housing and health and wellbeing. I had a period where I only ate Ramen with spinach and sausage tossed in for nutrition back in April lol.

Yeah you made a mistake in selling that anon, ME was undervalued to begin with and they tripled their resource estimate last Thursday. That's when I noticed the company and quickly bought in at 0.2, and yesterday sold 100 PGM to add 1k ME. Now sitting fairly comfortably at 3k shares but I'm honestly expecting 0.4 by end of week. It's a big rerating going on, people are noticing the company and the share only has a measly 16% in retail float.
I say if it somehow dips to 0.3, buy back in. This one is a keeper
>It's funny though how two different styles led to the same company though
Definitely a funny coincidence. All roads lead to Rome?
>I by no means am some crazy TA guy either, but when I started larping around with the meme lines I was amazed at how the prices kept going where I thought they would, and how they'd bounce off lines going months and years back.
That's interesting. I'll have to start messing around with MA's, RSI's and Fibonaccis too. I only started investing in miners in October, really missed out on the March bargain bin deals as well as the run up but I've been pretty comfy buying cheapies the last few weeks at least. By the by, take a look at Lion One. There's a huge cyclone hitting Fiji this week and share price might tank even lower than it is currently. They could possibly have 10-20Moz Au in their alkaline deposit and they'll begin drilling underground in January when two new UG drills arrive. With their current resources they're overvalued -- but if they have 10Moz Au, they're even more undervalued than Moneta. So that's a fun long term speculative play to keep in mind.
>I had a period where I only ate Ramen with spinach and sausage tossed in for nutrition back in April lol

Yugely unlikely, but I'll entertain it. I would imagine a stock market dump would at first hurt PMs like the crash earlier this year did (liquidising PM assets to cover margin calls), but to a lesser extent. Then it would reach a new ATH. IF the election is somehow overturned, gold will end up at >$2500/oz.

I ran with propane due to estimated operating costs and limited space for scaling. Used to run a mining rig (need to get that shit back online), and when I saw the wattages, and heat up time, determined ceramic would likely be cheaper.
