That's if they're tested at their optimal potential, which hardly anyone ever is. Sure your max definitely has a hardcap, which is why I said 10%. Also, a lot of IQ tests factor speed in, which would be effected by brainfog. I'm not saying you'd turn into DaVinci, but a single iq test definitely isn't the end of the road.

One extreme example I can think of is people getting dramatically improved intelligence after getting brain tumors removed, or even getting hit in the head. It's rare, but it proves there's more to intelligence than just what you're born with

Your IQ can also be reduced by 100% by having a bullet go through it. But yes, I actually agree that IQ itself is not that important. The pattern/spatial reasoning tests are very g-loaded and that's why they're used. Its indirect value is its correlation to real-world success. Anyway, would love to see any studies that test the variance of IQ with respect to diet/so-called brain fog over time. But I don't think it's significant.

I don't think IQ matters too much unless you're at the far left of the curve (sub 80). I really do think that being likeable and putting in longer, more focused work/study hours will get you much, much further than pure IQ. Discipline is hard to cultivate but you don't need a high IQ to do it.

I'm 26 and realizing that the past few years of slacking at work have really fucked me over in opportunity cost. Had I gave 100% during that time I'd be in much better shape than I am now.

my parents got me tested in 1st grade and i had an iq of 150+ (i dont remember exactly)
they put me in the gifted program where i always got in trouble for not doing my homework
then private school where i never did homework and skated by on Bs and Cs and sometimes an A if i liked the teacher or something
Now in college its the sam, Bs or Cs and i just cant make myself care. i wont study for tests or not do any homework and get Bs or Cs.
I just got a C in multivariate calc after not studying for any of the tests, getting a 91 and an 84, and not doing any homework
