Get something less expensive to give you an adrenaline rush in life. For me its port and women.

>> No.247372

Trade on forex or options or something else with high volatility. All the thrills of making easy money but with the safety of risk management. If you're going to the casino, you might as well throw the money on the BBQ for 5 minutes and salvage whatever isn't burnt. It's the same outcome and at least you'd save yourself the gas.

>If you're going to the casino, you might as well throw the money on the BBQ for 5 minutes and salvage whatever isn't burnt.
Unless you have an actual system. Me and a group of friends can go into a casino and walk out up $800-1500 between all of us.

>> No.247389

>>247364

Cash out your check, set a budget, put the cash into envelopes for each category (rent, food, hookers, and, yes, gambling money). Empty envelope = no more of that activity.

If you're still having trouble, talk to the casino (pit boss?) and get a referral to Gambler's Anonymous.

Pretty shitty casino then if they haven't caught on.

Fucking rofl.

this.

two words OP, for ex

>> No.247407

Agreed, except fuck the envelopes. Pay rent early, fill your refrigerator, pay bills early, THEN pocket the rest for hookers and gambling. That way you'll never be tempted to or able to spend what's earmarked for rent, groceries, etc.

There are a few local ones. And we don't do it too often, or any more after a couple of them moved.

>>247395
We did it consistently. Worse time we went, we only got about $50 per person after paying everyone back that went in the hole.

>> No.247413

What's your system?

>> No.247416

>>247413

If he told you then it wouldn't be a system, now would it?

>> No.247423

>>247413
The main part of our system is pooled cash. Keeps people from getting too greedy cause they know the group will give them hell.
Mostly we had a couple guys that could count cards and would sit at a table and track that and other tables. That was my job when we went. I'd then signal a good table
The other guys took it from there and had a play style to help each other win. I never took part in that, I just moved to another table and watched for the next table.

>> No.247424

>>247416
Well I only know my part of the system. I was the spotter. The rest of the guys had their own system when they moved in. I never asked them about it.

>> No.247432

i'm addicted to cocaine. i think i'd almost rather be addicted to gambling.

So you're hustling poker tables?

>it's about pooled money

No, it's not.

>> No.247441

>>247433
It is when it comes to my group. It makes them more cautious and less likely to start to play for themselves. The point for us was so that one person could go down $200 if it helps the other guy be up $300

>> No.248589

>>247441

When gambling the odds are 70% against you.

It doesn't matter how much money you "pool" to fight these odds. Fucking gamblers, I swear.

Get into card games. They usually give the same fix and they are cheaper to play.

I would recommend "yu gi oh" or "magic the gathering".

ROFL, maybe its because Im a bit drunk but thats funny as fuck

>> No.248625

I'm interested in the casino industry. It seems like casino owners make a killing praying on gambling addicts, with games that are designed in the house's favor and slot machines that take in more money than they give out.

>> No.248638

This may be a stupid question, but can't you replace casino gambling with an online equivalent (zynga poker, for example)?

>> No.248647

>>247432
I tried coke a couple times, I don't know if I just suck at getting addicted to things but I didn't get addicted. I also smoke cigs once in a blue moon and that's also supposedly addictive as fuck.

>> No.248653

>>248625
The thing is that most gamblers also don't operate on a realistic level in terms of what they can afford to spend.

At most you can afford to spend 1% of net income per month if you can get all of the freebies associated with gambling at a casino with a basic premise that you are already walking in with the money lost.

>> No.248673

>>247369
This.

There are many different ways to satiate your emotions and after a period of psychological conditioning they can be just as fulfilling as your addiction. More so if your new addiction is cheaper and more practical to fulfill.

The license to allow these different types of machines, and the level of tax (at least here in the UK) is fucking ridiculous.

However, my town's local gambling hall (just a load of slot machines and a bingo hall) regularly make 6,000 a week in net profit. And that's mainly from regulars.

Just a tip for gambling: the worst thing you can ever have happen to you is win big in your first few days. Just realize that you're throwing money down the well, and make sure to do it on a night out. Money won = more drinks, better night out, money lost = not so many drinks, boring night out.

Of course, this can cause so many different things I can't be bothered detailing them at the moment.

>> No.248939

I know that feel.

>that feel when you put two weeks pay across on a craps table and the guy 7's out on the first roll
>that feel when you have a few days pay on a hand of blackjack and get 20 against a dealers six and she hits to 21
>that feel when your team is covering the spread with 10 seconds left in the game and they commit a turnover that gets ran back for a touchdown and you lose

I stay with my parents to live frugally but I just gamble ever cent I make away at the casino. At least it's not football season, yet.
