Trying to pick miners is always tough and requires some domain expertise to do better than the etfs (URA and URNM), IMO.

Still, if you want to try your hand at it, with uranium it's probably easier than other things:

-The big and mid tier uranium miners who have survived the bear market and continued to produce are mostly solid. Check their balance sheets though.
-Producers with lots of mined/processed Uranium in reserve could profit quickly in the initial run up.
-Producers with large proven reserves in the ground could be valued highest of all, especially if it looks like the price will stay high for a long time.
-Jurisdictional risk is a major consideration. Uranium is a strategic asset and political hot potato. Governments are always liable to nationalize, or crack down on foreign investment.

Rest is on you.

ok i am having trouble finding photos that will work for explaining (in lay terms) how a lot of the geo physical / EM methods work. Same goes for a lot of the geological info to do with ore bodies, I ll snoop 911 metalurgist again later they probably have what were looking for.

I have a few photos explaining some of the technical gear though, such as the tools mounted to helicopters and such. I have all the photos needed for drilling and sampling though.

Bros. I want to formalize my argument against artificial scarcity of digital assets. Correct me if there is any flaw in the logic.

Suppose that digital artificial scarcity can make a digital asset more valuable than a naturally scarce asset.

As that digital asset can be forked, there can be infinitely many of such artificially scarce digital assets.

So due to being scarcer, the naturally scarce asset is more valuable than the group of the digital asset & its infinitely-many forks.

But for each fork, it must be more valuable than the naturally scarce asset as each fork's supply is also artificially scarcer.

How can each digital asset fork unit be more valuable than each of the naturally scarce asset unit, but all digital asset fork units altogether be less valuable than all of the naturally scarce asset units altogether?

Contradiction.

Its likely the economics of the two systems. The security of the system is tied to the hashing power, therefore if each system is still secure enough to not be "nicehashed" or comped, then they both can have higher valued market caps or circulating supplies. Let me bookmark this for later

Just got this AE from apmex, it's supposed to be in BU condition, I see a small scratch (it's shiny) on the left and it seems like some dirt marks on the center and right.

Would you reject and return this for a replacement? I paid a significant premium to get this year since it's sentimental to me.

Honestly this is how you lose money chasing momentum. You position yourself with the crowd all the way off a cliff. That`s what happened to everyone buying gold and silver miners past June and May, and it`s what`s gonna happen to people chasing commodities now. Should`ve been positioning yourself in gold miners in March and April, and Uranium and copper in July and August. Buying into other commodities now is like buying Gold and silver miners in July. The party will end sometime, but who knows when. Set your stop losses at a minimum, but best to grow a pair and start thinking for yourself and ahead of the crowd. The best investments hurt like shit at first.

I mentioned a thread or two ago I may sell KL and consolidate it into GOLD, didn't do it today but perhaps tomorrow before the weekend. HL seemed to meet basic stock pricing principles for me anyway (low billion market cap, met or beat earnings the last few quarters, low enough price it wouldn't kill me if I wound up bagholding). I can agree with this. what i've learned is that if you're going to go PMs - go physical or go with mining stocks. that SLV shit is algo'd the fuck out and does not seem to operate like other normal ETFs to me, so yes I got duped into SLV

>>24717217
>crazy bull market
that may be true, but thats whats going on in the stock market right now. I've got stocks i put the exact same amount of money in as PMs and those are up 25-55% - the stock market is simply gaining faster right now and will for the forseeable future.

when i bought my physical silver, i literally fucking meme'd into it. I had extra money that I knew i was going to spend and instead of buying frivolous shit, i said fuck it and bought silver bc it was shiny and i could resell it later and get my money back, while satisfying that itch to "buy something". i got lucky that it mooned over the summer. that was not strategy that was complete dumbshit luck on my part

at least when i buy stocks i have a strategy, understand those businesses, and it is not luck when my stocks go up, its actual DYOR and value investing

My thoughts are the exact same as yours just delayed by 12-18 months. I guess I'm seeing the current copper spike as a headfake before a real bull market. It may have been you that mentioned El Dorado some time ago when I started exploring the idea of getting into mining stocks. It was something like $11 per share at the time. They never seem to miss earnings, just based on a quick glance.

That's something that was in the back of my mind, but I'll freely admit it took getting JUST'd in March for the reality to finally set in. And coincidentally, I happened to come across /pmg/ at that time and you all took my knowledge of the general state of our economy farther than I thought possible at the time. Enough to finally get me to start stacking for one.

Deflation fags overstate the importance of Eurodollar and the dollar milkshake theory.

They are right about their belief, but wrong about the significance.

Silver? Sure. Gold? No. Literally no entity on earth has been, is, or will be bigger than the gold market. The silver market is tiny. It's like If Warren Buffet was allowed to bully a 5 billion dollar company by the SEC. Gold cannot be stopped from breaking out if investors want it.
Same thing with treasuries/dollars. Nothing is bigger than these markets. If you go in with the belief that anything is bigger than the totality of "the" market, you will go broke in your lifetime.

Here's what I came up with using 2008 as a base case,. The time frames aren't lining up exactly but I blame the FED stepping in about a year early distorting the market. However if you think an insolvency event is in the books sometime next year this chart could be interesting. The price action and resistance points seem very familiar, and it lines up with the fundamental case that a copper bull market should not be happening just yet.

All ability to 'supress' prices is directly correlated with how successfuly they can stop demand. In the case of precious metals, the interested parties have been very successful because they have been able to use 'paper' equivalents to the commodities as leverage, which has stop the force of demand from pushing prices of the physical good higher.

They have a problem now though - people are starting to demand the physical, rather than the paper Ponzi asset. Why do you think JPM now have a net long position on silver after all these decades?

Demand is everything. Supply is relatively thin as miner bros have been discussing lately with low exploration for the past 10 years. Memeing gold and silver to those around you in your local community has the most effect right now probably in many decades, especially now with such a hard economy. Don't focus on austrian economics, just focus on "muh shiny" normies haven't cared about austrian economics in the past, and they won't now. They just want out of the current system and you do too so focus on that. You know PMs are the way out so show them how. They will be receptive to emotional arguments only, as many of us know.

>>24717935
Lmao. I think copper might be nice to have on the side, but in useful form, not bullion or bars. I have a few hundred feet of copper electrical wiring, rubber insulation and all, sitting around that would actually be useful for something rather than just a hunk of metal and therefore easier to trade. I know there's a high premium because the extrusion of the copper into wire and coating in insulation takes labor and resources, but it still makes it worth much more and holds it's value as a commodity in regards to inflation.

Have a look at Centerra Gold. Their main mines are the mount Milligan and Kemess Gold / Copper mines in BCs Northwest Interior, as well as several other major projects around the world. There $13 right now but there a medium scale company, if thats too big though go for Copper Mountain Mining, another BC operator.

This mentality will work 95% of the time, PM stacking is about building up generational wealth outside the financial system for the extremely long term, but if people start telling you about the benefits of investing in PMs when the price is rising extremely quickly it may be wise to sell and buy back in at a lower price.

I dont have the exact info in front of me, but the geologist field is probably 60% female. Where I ve worked there were women underground, but they werent miners, they were all technical staffers, surveyors etc. There is a very strong female presence in mining, and has been for at least the last 15 years. It bugs me though that companies still feel like they need to pander about this though. No one cares if your a woman in the technical fields when your on site. The mining sector may hire a lot of women but its not what we would call woke.

Gold and silver aren't really a play that you *cash* out on in the strictest sense of the word, but I understand what you mean.

>>24723166
If you're stacking you want less people to have access to gold and silver though, right? That means it's more likely they'll have to get it from you.

Real or fake? Pic related. I looked it up and these were real medals given out back in the day. But today its either commemorative silver replica or an outright fake pretending to be silver. Btw Pan Man, I obviously don't want to harm you and your job by this post >>24723655 and I also don't actually want to start a securities fraud scheme lol. It's basically just a rhetorical argument to show what mining vs stacking means. Plus, I don't think investing in mining stocks or not has much of an effect on their price anyway because most stocks are manipulated, especially in the PM sector. In your case you're invested in the sector through the job you have, so it makes sense to be in mining stocks but also stack PMs because you do a lot of geology and you mine PMs so why not stack them too. I've enjoyed your posts ever since I first started lurking at the beginning of this year when all the Corona shit started going down and I wanted to learn more about how to invest in gold even though I'd already stacked a 1oz of gold and some generic silver rounds.

>>24723767
This is the best way to effect change, in my opinion. Plus it makes your stack more liquid. I'm not opposed to higher supply of PMs in a way because I do want more people to have gold and silver, but if we want our stacks to make us money, less supply of PMs or more demand for PMs by cultural re-evaluation of PMs as money again is the way it will happen. Which way it'll happen is up to you to decide. Maybe mining companies are a good way to make money in the mean time. I recognize that a lot of people need to make more money on investments than just stacking can provide, and that's fine. Mining stocks are a better way to do that than anything else because they support based people like Pan Man, as evidenced here >>24723537

>> No.24724458

>>24724338
no worries mate i dont take anything seriously here, I know we all at one point have wanted to watch the world burn down. Also mining stocks and especially junior explorers are not for everyone, there some of the most volatile and sketchy you can look into. Always be on guard with them.
Also thank you, I try to keep threads as comfy as possible. Cant have low morale around here.

Yeah low morale is definitely not what I want. If anyone got seriously offended or depressed by that post you probably shouldn't be in PMs in any way because the powers that be don't want PMs to succeed lol. You have to have a lot of grit to bag hold a stack or mining stocks for the amount of time it takes to get a return. I just want everyone here to focus on what is REAL. Real money, bettering yourself and the people around you, what's happening in your locality, etc. I want a real awakening and rebirth to occur. I think we all do at this point.
