Osisko's BGM project causing a stir in the Community of Wells BC again, pic related is where the project plans to place a new exploration portal. Stupidly, the company forgot to mention that a new set of waste pads and facilities would be placed there as well and the towns furious. I may have to go talk to the engineers about whos doing the planning on this, its a piss poor place to stick such workings.

This isn't really much of a "u-turn", France has been building up nuclear for years. At the very least, they've been much more resistant to the anti-nuclear agenda than others

Meanwhile Germany fell for the libcuck trap hook, line and sinker. They phased out just about all their nuclear power because of dumbfuck liberal policies. As a direct result, their electric grid was fucked for years because they found out that all the "renewable" sources of energy could not even begin to replace what they lost, so ironically they had to start massively increasing their coal usage to compensate, completely negating the whole "environmental" angle to begin with! Now Germans pay like twice as much for electricity lol

What if aliens have their own supply of Bitcoin? We know the universe is practically infinite, and so there must be intelligent alien life out there. They too must have discovered cryptocurrencies, and so are likely mining their own supply of crypto; that of which is likely far more advanced - more private, better speculations, better uses, better stores of value.

Is "Asteroid mining" code for aliens mining crypto? Once we encounter aliens in the next few years, they will dump on us with far better crypto. The supply of crypto is literally infinite. This won't be Bitcoin 2.0, this will be Bitcoin 10.0 they dump us with. All our crypto would go to $0. Especially as Elon Musk takes us inevitably beyond the solar system in 2030.

Gold is needed to cover for space radiation. It is a necessity. If we get mining in space, it will take years to get there which means we will be eating the supply so you still have to have gold covered tech.
TLDR: Humans need gold to survive in space. Same with electronics that are exposed to environmental radiation in space. The earth supply will be so low that it will only cover the extreme lack of gold on earth, and any more gold will supply the expansion into space.

https://www.nationalgeographic.com/news/2012/10/121011-diamond-planet-space-solar-system-astronomy-science/
>Diamond Planet Found—Part of "Whole New Class?"
>Carbon-rich exoplanet has chemistry not seen before, astronomers say.
>Science fiction has dreamed of diamond planets for many years, so it's amazing that we finally have evidence of its existence in the real universe," said study leader Nikku Madhusudhan, a postdoctoral researcher at Yale University.
>"It's the first time we know of such an exotic planet that we think was born mostly of carbon—which really makes this a fundamental game-changer in our understanding of what's possible in planetary chemistry."
>At only 40 light-years away, in the northern constellation Cancer, the gemlike planet sits relatively near Earth. In dark skies, 55 Cancri e's host star is clearly visible to the naked eye.

Its painful to think that we could be out there exploring stuff like this if we weren't burdened by having to pay gibs for all the dead weight.

People panicked and told their MLA's to ban the exploration of uranium in the province and it was rubber stamped only weeks after the accident. On Valintines day 1950 a US B36 Peacemaker aircraft lost power in three of its six engines due to carburetor icing. The bomber was running the airforces first live test run with a mark 4 atomic weapon, including its plutonium core. The bomber was following the BC coast line from its base in Alaska when it encountered the issues, and the crew attempted to drop the unarmed weapon in the sea to save the aircraft. With the bomb bay frozen nothing operated the crew jumped out over Princess Royal Island, where 12 of the 15 crew were rescued. The massive plane was set to self destruct over the ocean, but instead did a U turn in land and crashed nearly intact on Mt Koliget near Terrace BC, where it was discovered in 1955. The plane was destroyed by a US special forces team the following year, with communities nearby reporting a massive explosion and blue flash seen as far away as Kispiox village. Pic related is a detonator recovered from the crash site for the mark 4.

Closer to surface is more economic to mine although if the property has an old mine it might not be as expensive to mine
a deposit deeper underground. It's also less about the grade itself and more about the intersection. You should count gram-meters with drill core assays by multiplying the grade (grams per ton) by the distance of the drill core assay. In this case it would be 3m * 647gpt Ag = 1,941 gram-meters of silver in that assay

Haha I said the same thing except Mountain Boy got an 8. But you're right his rankings are very very conservative and risk adverse. Rick likes the sure bets, even if they're lower yielding. Which makes sense as he's said on podcasts before that risking money on individual exploration stocks can be really stupid when the indexes are likely going to 5 bag on their own. Why take that extra risk, when there's so much money to make doing the safe bet.

NFG i can agree with at ipo, although those drill results promote themselves these days. Still an expensive stock.

Yes but consider that this is just a small intersection of a drill hole. Why do we drill holes to the ground? It's to scope out the ground and to define the mineralization. The point of drilling is to come to an understanding of how large a deposit is, what shape it has, how much ore there is and of what average grade. A 3m intersection with an average grade of >600gpt Ag is good! That's >6gpt AuEq! Now imagine how many tonnes of ore like that they find, imagine what kind of deposit this vein forms

>> No.24665081

>>24665013
exactly! We drill to delinate the scale of an ore deposit so that a "resource" can be designed around it. This cuts a lot of the speculation out of the mining process, you can learn how much and where the ore is and what grade it is across a wide area. Of course drilling isnt cheap but its standard across the industry.

That's actually a more attractive option of the two. I'm lead to believe we're only talking miners lately because we've been stuck in a perpetual crab state since summer ended. Once more action happens on the price front (whether we moon or get another flash crash like we did in spring) we'll see talk of actual physical rise again.

But maybe a weekly thread to recap everything would be a good idea. Would also serve as something of an entry point for those out there on /biz/ that want to get a good summary of a week's activity without 9-10 threads to read through.

Really the only offshoot I'd like to see is the commodities general we tried to orchestrate recently. I was able to scour some decent material for agriculture markets but it never took off :(

But now that gold and silver stocks pulled back, Uranium broke out again and they're some of my bigger winners now. I think what's important is to keep the long term picture in mind and don't worry about the price except to buy on dips. They hold a lot of the territory east of Dolly Varden and Homestake, covering several abandoned small scale mines from the 30s and 40s. They also hold the Esperanza mine site which was a fantastic small scale operation right outside downtown Alice Arm. Much of their ground is purely speculative though and like the other companies in the area has only recently been explored with modern tech.

Is there a source for the claim that Tonopah shut down due to low silver prices? After doing my DD on SSVR and BRC I don't remember either company mentioning low prices of silver as causes for the shutdown of the mines at Tonopah. If I remember correctly SSVR stated that the vein was lost and BRC stated that one of the mines in their property got shut down due to technical problems at depth -- flooding if I'm not mistaken. On the miner side, which I am on myself as I am heavily interested in miners ( but also an interest in physical which got me here in the first place) I will be making an effort to not engage in blind "what should I buy bro?" discussion, because it SHITS. This is already starting to crack in the USA. There is a growing dissent amongst small businesses and owner operators. Idk about Canada, but the US may see some healthy resistance. If your posts are truly the path, we need to support and egg on a trucking strike/protest in January or February, assuming all world economies get smacked with this retardation. I can promise that if things seem this dire, I'll be working toward a US yellow vest.

I've got some lyrics to go along with it, just gotta spend an afternoon recording them sometime:

I CLIMBED ABOARD THE ROCKET SHIP,
THEY SAID DON'T WORRY, BUY THE DIP!
WE'RE BLASTING OFF, IT'S TIME TO GO,
WE'LL LEAVE YOU IF YOU ARE TOO SLOW!

I STRAPPED IN ON THE ROCKET SHIP,
I POURED MY SAVINGS IN REAL QUICK,
I STORED MY VALUE, HEDGED MY BETS,
THE FEDS CAN'T STOP ME NOW I GUESS...

I STARED OUT FROM THE ROCKET SHIP,
THE LIGHTS OF EARTH BEGAN TO DIP,
THE STARRY SKIES AWAITED ME,
THE MOON IT BECKONED BRIGHT AND FREE!

BUT AS I PRAISED MY ROCKET SHIP,
THE ENGINE HAD BEGUN TO DRIP!
THE PILOTS HAD PLAYED US FOR FOOLS,
THEY'D ONLY NEEDED US FOR FUEL!!!

I SCREAMED INSIDE THE ROCKET SHIP,
WITH MANY OTHER POOR MIDWITS,
OUR COFFIN PLUNGED BACK DOWN TO EARTH,
WITH SAVINGS GONE AND HOPE REVERSED...

I TELL YOU OF THIS ROCKET SHIP,
TO TEACH THE TRUTHS OF CRYPTO SHIT,
DON'T TRUST THE SHILLS, DON'T BUY THE DIP,
AND NEVER SUCK SATOSHI'S DICK!

I don't think mining talk is a problem. I think as mentioned earlier that shilling is the problem and a weekly miner's thread like Pan Man suggested would greatly help with newbie influx because instead of re-explaining all recent events you could just leave a link in the OP to that weeks Miner Monday thread or something like that and if they still have questions update them in the latest thread. Would greatly cut down on repetitive redundant posting, while still allowing mining discussion to thrive in /pmg/ where it belongs

Don't worry about the price especially if it's a small purchase. You're not looking for gains, you're just trying to preserve your wealth. Make periodic purchases if you want to avoid price swings over time.

after chatting with the guys in charge it seems that this was the only option BGM could go with. The BC government screwed up and issued them permits to dig the portal but than didnt give them permits to move the waste. Guess the towns going to have to whine to the government instead. Typical BC government fuck ups as usual. To top it all off the government doesnt want the reissue the permit so BGM can move the portal out of view either.

I'm the newfren who's request for miner information spurred the addition of the"Relevant information regarding mining companies" to these threads and I couldn't be happier. Honestly, with the quarterly "PAN MAN's choice of miners" images, I feel very spoonfed and happy.

I've decided to go with a conservative ETF approach right in terms of miner investment, but being able to have resources to use to figure out WHY the quarterly miners are recommended is just the bee's knees.

I also lurk /smg/ and that place is just a shitshow. /pmg/ is maximum comfy due to the actual fucking discussion here, as opposed to that damn cat meme for Gamespot.
