API3 data feeds (dAPIs) are governed by an open DAO of stakeholders, industry experts, and project partners. This allows dAPIs to be operated with maximal transparency, minimal required trust in centralized operators, and no centralized attack surfaces. API token holder can take a direct part in governing the project by staking API3 tokens into the API3 insurance staking contract, which grants them shares in the API3 DAO.

unironically the easiest hold for a pretty much guaranteed 5x with obviously potential for much more. you’d have to be a brainlet not to at the very least hold it for short term gains and increase your stack of whatever you swap for it.

There is no doubt in my mind this will do at least 5-10x. Its not even on a decent exchange and doing -+10 million real volume (not like band with its dev dumps every day)

I've been seeing this coin shilled a lot lately. Can someone explain why I should buy this instead of the list below that I took from another thread?
BTC- Original, secure, household name, but slow, costly, lacking utility, and threatening to governments.
ETH- same issues as above except many features. ETH 2.0 might be huge. still could be an issue with goverments
XRP- semi-centralized, compliant, bankster-friendly, fast, low cost... but also centralized and bankster friendly
Link- Oracle... but shitty ERC20 coin, dont see much promise in it, but wouldnt want to miss out either
RLC- "world computer" but also a shitty ERC20 coin
XLM- XRP but decentralized. different from ETH because nodes instead of mining and staking
Other coins- I dont really see why you would buy anything else (strictly long-term investing here) except maybe other ISO20020 coins
Is there really anything wrong with just splitting my money evenly between all the coins I listed? Its just so speculative to go all in on one coin. so much misinformation, shilling and fudding. I just don't really feel its wise to go all-in on one coin.

You see link is centralised. Api3 is not. Basically if you use LINK, you have to trust Sergey won't fuck you over. With API3 you don't need to trust anyone. The difference is very similar to XRP and XLM

anyone have a token release time graph? when will the first of the 80ml locked tokens get unlocked?

Good example. Chainlink is presently a permissioned network, if you can even call it a network. Reputation and staking are not implemented which prevents the system from actually being decentralized. More importantly is that staking is the only thing that gives LINK any value and people seem to forget this. LINK literally has no value unless staking is implemented and it's no where on the roadmap for Chainlink.

very interesting. So it seems like as a society, we will head in the direction of centralized or decentralized currencies. in a DeFi world, I think ETH 2.0 would win out with ERC20 tokens used for specialized purposes and bitcoin would probably still be used as a store of value. If governments can somehow ban Defi, which seems quite possible, it looks like XRP would win, or maybe all cryptos would get killed. obviously we dont have crystal balls, and by the time its clear what the right choice is, it will be too late to make a meaningful investment. based on this analysis, API3 seems like a better investment than Chainlink. this actually is helping me get the broader picture. what do you think? defi and a diverse array of currencies, or CBDC dominance with crypto eventually outlawed or made inaccessible?

You realize a DAO is just a group that manages a project, except in a transparent manner? It's just like Chainlink the company, except funds are openly managed and you don't get million token dumps on the regular.

>The creation of a DAO is meant to assist a blockchain protocol in dealing with the unknown. That is, if a protocol could be perfectly engineered from its inception, then a DAO — created to oversee changes to the protocol — would be entirely unnecessary.
