Because in America the elites have perpetuated a culture of 'Voluntary generational poverty'.

That is it is somehow immoral to give your children the best chances to live a good life and instead you should let them be poor because 'they gotta work hard like I did' despite their being massive real estate and stock bubbles which are perpetuating wealth inequality. So these boomers which are flushing their families wealth down the drain because 'my kids outta earn it themselves' are basically dooming their children and their childrens children to life long poverty as they cannot get decent positions in the real estate and stock markets.

The only hope young people have today is getting in on bitcoin and other notable crypto assets. And maybe 50 years from now if you get in Space mining stocks, but that is literally it. If you don't have generational wealth in the next 10 years you and your family will be doomed to be part of the world wide 'useless' class as software eats all the jobs in the world, people without yield producing assets will be forced to be slaves to the government living off UBI until they die, whilst the elites enjoy pseudo immortality and explore the stars with their AI robot work forces.

Don’t think of it as a loan, think of any money you give to family or friends as a gift. Where you don’t expect to be paid back. So figure out what amount you’re comfortable with where it won’t strain your finances or the relationship (for me, maybe $5-800 for a close friend and maybe $2-3,000 for a family member) and just give it to them and assume you’re never being paid back.
If they DO pay you back, then they’ve opened themselves up to another gift if they need it. Otherwise, they have maxed out your limit and don’t give them another dime.

About 10 years ago my meth smoking mom asked me to lend her $5,000 to stop her from being evicted because her boyfriend was in jail and there was no one to pay the rent. Part of that has to do with some boomers seeing other boomers get handed everything in life by their "greatest" generation parents and become spoiled shits and squander it all. So they figured that giving your children stuff was what spoiled kids, and decided not to do that. Of course, that's wrong, and it's more about how you raise your children, but parents stopped raising their children around WW1 when mandatory government schooling became a thing, and it only got worse with the explosion of advertising, leading to a double whammy of propaganda being forced non-stop onto normal people without the mitigating effect of internet access to unlimited information about everything.

My parents would be that kind of boomer I described above, except they decided to have a shitload of kids instead, so rather than just deprive a couple children, they gave everything they had to a lot of children (and still managed to squander a lot of money/wealth by being stupid boomers, but at least it wasn't malicious). It was a smart move by them since half their children are moderately successful and can support the rest plus the parents as time goes on. Personally I'm going to have a bunch of children too, but I'll have wealth to pass on thanks to crypto and wisdom to pass on thanks to the internet. We WILL be space mining magnates and we WILL buy our own planet somewhere down the line.
