Hi Biz

Wanted to warn you all: I ordered a ledger within the past 30 days and used a set of burner credentials ( new email on protonmail unused / DID phone number) because I heard about ledger leaking customer info in the past.

Low and behold this morning - I started receiving spam from French domains asking me to sign up for loans on my burner email that I used for ledger.

I cannot confirm 100% that this is related to ledger but based on the evidence above I have a strong feeling it is . This email address has not been used anywhere else. Ledger is a french company and now im receiving french spam.

Not trying to FUD - I'm still going to continue to to use my ledger, just want you all to be safe out there. We are all going to make it.

Cheers

to clarify - I'm receiving phishing spam not generic spam.

They said it was as plugin which leaked data since 2019. They were definitely covering something up. Shame ledger device is good but the company is fucking ass.

I only hear about this shady shit here and there with ledger, never heard anything about trezor. And that’s the main reason i bought a trezor

So I wasn't part of the initial data leak from 2019. I am a new ledger customer. This is my first time ordering one. I ordered directly from ledgers website and not amazon.

I'm not sure if this is related to the 2019 (unless it's still ongoing). Either way, the timing seems really suspicious

tampering on a sealed package?

So I get calls from chinks saying I signed up to some investment site. Spam called me for weeks when finally I answer and some Chinese cunt starts rambling.
>Binance
Now I got a phone call from Tunisia the other day. That was a new one. Didn't answer first time, then pick up and immediate disconnect.
>Ledger

I am pretty sure these cunts are giving my details out.

Why people choose ledger over trezor is beyond me especially if you do a little research behind each company and intended on storing 5-6+ figures on it

I got a call from Tunisia yesterday too. It rang a few times then hung up. I never answered. But I googled it and it said it's a scam to get you to call back and be charged international fees.

Haven't got any phising emails. Ledger user here

It's easy enough to just look at the site and look at the model ledger you got, crack it open, and compare it to the pictures they have on their site. It's so easy a retard could do it.

Mine was yesterday too actually. We could trade details and figure where our point of contact crosses. But I don't trust these mongolian basket weavers.

What’s the point of doing all this if you gave them your physical address

>> No.24425520

>>24425203

I don't know what trezor is regardless, as someone mentioned above, I don't necessarily care about my email, I care about my other contact details like my physical address that can be used to steal my identity, sim swap me and other various activities like holding me ransom. I hold a significant amount of crypto so I'm panicking some what. I'd rather not be potentially kidnapped and have my knees broken

It's still a reduction of attack vector. I'd rather a fake email kept compromised than my personal email.

>never buy from amazon?
Because Amazon doesn't sequester their various resellers from each other, so if you buy from the Ledger Store on Amazon, you could get a counterfeit or a hacked one or one that has already been set up or one that has its card filled out with "these are your secret words".

I worked for a manufacturer that sold its own products in the U.S. through Amazon. Even when people bought from "our" store, Amazon was shipping counterfeits out of Chinese resellers' bins. Even though Amazon's contracts state that they will never do this. Even though Amazon refuses to admit that they do this.

Amazon is scum, and I refuse to shop on their site any more, because you NEVER know what you're going to get sent.

Trezor is already known to be insecure. There are companies selling "recover your keys from your Trezor" hardware. All it takes is access to the hardware.

Leger has a "secure element" chip which may or may not be hackable. No one knows because it is closed source.

Up to you which one you trust.

>>24425435
You can build your own Trezor clone out of a Raspberry Pi now. Just use TrueCrypt to encrypt the data files and you're probably more secure than on either a real Trezor or a Ledger.
