/biz/ how do you deal with a guilty conscience? I'll have made over 1mil this year after taxes just from going degen long on crypto a couple of times. I will be richer than actual PhD engineers designing computer chips and advancing technology. How do you guys cope with the fact that you are doing something totally useless but getting hilariously rich?

This shit is literally too fucking easy, I just wait for a chart setup or some news and click the green button and a couple days later I'm up mid six figures.

I do a mix of fundamentals, ta, and news. Most recent trade was selling everything and shorting 200 BTC when the USA fud came out and relonging in the mid 16s when the longs were fully cleared out and 16k held. My biggest win was longing the shitload out of 11.2k in October after seeing all the on chain data, the US dollar chart, and the bullish news coming out, and just stop buying when the first high was broken. Closed it with an average of low 17s. Also bought a fuckton of ripple recently when it made an inverse head and shoulders and I knew about the fork coming up. I literally have no strategy I just have a couple tactics I use and wing it as I go along.

When markets crashed this year I started to watch real people with real economics PhD providing analysis on the market, my initial strategy was to wait for the vix to start to decline and then long SPX500, but I keep seeing those enlightened fucktards say it would dump more, so I waited, and waited, and it didn't dumped, I lost most of the bull-run and fucked up trades with too much leverage later on. I'd say most of the benefit from those groups is the twitter guys they put me onto, and some analysis they repost. I've found tons of twitter guys and sometimes there will be a piece of news or analysis that pans out. But the actual guys in paid groups that shill TA, or even traditional TA personalities like flood or crypto cobain or whatever? Fuck no. They only worked in December 2017 when literally everything you did would make money.

It depends on what you mean by *intelligence*. There is pure raw genetic ability and there is actualized ability. There's useful outlets for intellectual ability and useless ones. I'm ~120 IQ at best but lucky enough to have found crypto. I know ultra smart math/physics people who can wrap their head around concepts I can barely understand, and can memorize and recall a wide variety of things I could maybe hold one of if I put all my focus onto it. But they're making 70k a year and I am fucking running it up.

Does every maths major have a shot at getting rich in markets if they apply themselves? I don't know.

>> No.24397692

Well Op, my plan is to make a lot of money and to start creating real things, I pursuing a PhD in physics and I have some ideas to make a better society by making a company, the ultimate goal is to help humanity to transition faster into a society of slave robots, where the only available work will be creative and intellectual, like in Athens, but with robot slaves, not humans slaves. I sort of have a step by step project to achieve that, it is a really long road, but if everything turnout perfectly I will live in an anarchist meritocratic society when I am old, I know it is just a crazy dream, but that is what makes me go on in this old dirty road of life. I know some people that work in blockchains and in the near-future I hope to find ways to tokenizing intellectual assets, like diplomas. If you can share you channels and twitters, or trading techniques it would be really help full.

I know what you feel, I felt the same way when we got in maniac phase in 2017, I used to make my month salary in a day, that was a really crazy felling, but made me feel bad that the things I was doing at research was underpaid. What I would tell you is search for something meaningful to do to society, something you really feel would help society, and pursue that thing as your main source of existence. If I make actual serious amounts of money, I plan to donate most of it to freedom fighters like Ben Shapiro and Dennis Prager who are trying to educate the next generation with principled conservative values, and save Western Civilization.

If I cannot make my own token to scam with then I do not deserve to make it.
If there's idiots who can hack using flash loans everyday and I can't then I do not deserve to make it.
I bet I'd be too dumb to even manage to cash out without the government finding out. At that point I do not deserve to make it.

there are worse people.

some are just born into a wealthy family and don't even have to game the system like you did. even gamblers do more to deserve their wealth in buying a lottery ticket than they do.

You're lucky OP but you're also doing something that 99% of normies couldn't do. And everyone on biz is already in the top 20%.
Don't sweat it.
PhDs are probably happy with their lives and will make a million or few over their lifetimes.
Start a real biz and do something constructive with your gains.

You can, but I am telling you that the easiest fucking money I have ever made has been margin trading. I lost money for 2 years doing it though, fair warning.

>>24399604
I don't know what level of margin it was. Maybe 4x.

No one serious actually cares about leverage level. But I would use anything up to about 50x.

It's survival of the fittest, and guess what, having some balls is at least equal to intelligence in getting you places. A genius phd who sits in a computer cave all day gets exactly the prize he is aiming for.

1. It’s not useless to make money in crypto. Who are you to question the outcome of the market as it relates to you so far? Just because you cannot see the fukk picture of how it is useful doesn’t mean it isn’t. Do you think your personal moral preferences would be a better way to measure economic value than the market? What are you a commie? Unless you inherited the money to start with I don’t see how you can think making $1m post tax is not deserved if you can do it.
2. Imagine all of the pitfalls in crypto. Exchange hacks, wallet hacks, rugpulls, barts, scamwicks, korea fud. Imagine you lost all your gains right now from one of those things. Would think back and be happy you felt guilty?
