Shortly after the incredible 3-day funding of the Monero atomic swaps in October, yet another crowdfund has been completed for Sarang Noether's Bulletproofs+ implementation! This time, the donations are tax deductible (for those who want to).

With successful deployment of Bulletproofs+, the Monero network can expect a 5% decrease in transaction size and overall efficiency improvements. As adoption grows, this will lead to immensely compounded reduction in blockchain size.

Bulletproofs+ is also compatible with Triptych and Arcturus. Once one of these are implemented, the number of ring size decoys can be on the order of hundreds, making it essentially impossible to track transactions more than it already is.

XMR is completely community driven and is the true fungible and private cryptocurrency.

So much great news. It's great to see this /biz/ Monero community growing every week.
For the noobies out there, make sure to DCA every month if you can. Anything below our last all time high is Monero at a discount.

I'm sending into my Binance account. I have the latest Ledger live software + GUI wallet. I've attempted to send out about 20 times now every time it approves then turns "pending" before "failing" How do I fix this?

What software wallet should I use to interact with my Monaro wallet and exchanges with if I use Monero as my main wallet to wallet transaction coin? Cakewallet has had some issues since the new update plus I hear the fees are high, though that might just be fud. Exodus? Coinomi?

what gui version do you have? Monero hard forked in October.
Also, are you connected to a remote note and has it synced the blockchain?

I know you said you have the latest wallet, but to make sure, the latest version 0.17.1.15 was released just yesterday.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/k1yyax/monero_gui_and_cli_01715_released/

also, make sure that your ledger firmware is up to date as well. sometimes it doesn't update to the latest monero software unless the firmware is updated.

>>24360289
Do you have to use a mobile wallet? I would suggest using the official GUI wallet on a computer. Better with a hardware wallet so you are not at risk of exposing your keys.

Software only sadly. To much of a poorfag to get hardware plus I wouldn't use a hardware wallet for exchanges since I would just throw it into a safe. I use the gui wallet since I like desktop wallets the most and I mine, but I mean a wallet that can interact with exchanges, so one that can hold more than monero like a safe I guess if its a DEX where you cant hold coins on the exchange. A wallet that is friendly to what monero is all about would be best. Cake seemed nice, but looks like their update messed some things up, their fees might be high(might be fud though) and it doesn't hold all of what I wanted to(As much as link is a meme, from its performance it would be a diversified coin option for me so I want to be able to hold it.)

Might be a good idea to keep the GUI tho and swap between the two.

So you're looking for a wallet that can hold multiple coins. I think getting a hardware wallet would be a good idea, since ledger live supports all of the relevant coins in one software (although you need to use the monero gui for monero).

Ledger is having a 40% Black Friday sale. If you could afford one, I'd get it. Maybe two, so you can keep one in a safe. If you just get one, there's no need to keep it in a safe imo. Just keep your seed in the safe, and as long as you memorize the pin that you use, you're good.

>> No.24362144

>>24361732
That was what I was thinking. Have a wallet besides my Monero gui one sole for exchanges.
>>24361853
As mentioned before I'm to much of a poorfag for a hardware wallet yet. Plus, I would still safe the hardware since leaving it on my desk or even on my person would be pretty risky, especially with roommates. (Not to nock them, they are good people but...you know...opsec and all that)

>> No.24362322

>>24362144
Ledger requires you to set a 4 to 8 digit PIN code that only you know separate from the seed every time you connect it. It's not much different from having a wallet on your phone and your roommates figuring out your phone password to transfer funds while you're asleep.

>> No.24362406

>>24362144
it's pretty hard to break into a hardware wallet
For a ledger for example, if you have an 8 digit pin the likelihood of them guessing the password in three tries (after which it locks you out) is negligible, it's 3/10^8
Also a nano s is only like $36 with the black friday deal.
I use a hardware wallet + one of those metal seed phrase storage things that I keep in a safe, as well as with a lock on the seed phrase piece itself

>> No.24362441

>>24362322
That's actually the reason I favor desktop wallets(not browser), since it is much more secure than my phone.

No. Once your money enters the Monero ecosystem it becomes completely anonymous.

You are trusting that the exchange doesn’t keep logs of everything and won’t report you to the irs. Seeing as how many people use that service and others like it, provided you aren’t sending over very large amounts I highly doubt you would draw any attention. And additionally because the monero address could plausibly be someone else’s the government would have no way of proving you hold the monero.

>> No.24364502

You can use Monero and still pay taxes on it. People (even plenty of Monero users) have the mental image that Monero's privacy is somehow incompatible with just paying your fucking taxes instead of trying to dodge the IRS, but it really isn't.
