Great news day today! News from Surge Copper and (more importantly for me) Nighthawk Gold:

This is a myth. The Hunt Brothers were a scapegoat and severely wronged. Silver went back to its normal 1:14 GSR during the 70s bull market. If Volcker hadn't let interest-rates rise to 20%, the dollar would have plunged to zero. Impossible for the Fed chairman to do the same thing this time, so this time the dollar really is plunging to zero. COMEX manipulation will cease, China and Russia will issue gold-backed currencies, gold will go 1:1 with the Dow, and silver will once again revert to a 1:14 GSR.

>> No.24295653

The Hunts were simply trying to protect their wealth by taking delivery of physical silver on the COMEX, which was perfectly legitimate both morally and lawfully. Are you aware of how high high inflation was at the time? Bonds were known as "certificates of confiscation." You put $250,000 in and got $150,000 out. Gold and silver were the only safe havens for your money. The dollar came perilously close to collapsing, and was only saved by Volcker. We are simply going to see 1979 repeated now, because the financial circumstances are exactly the same (negative real yields). Only, this time, interest-rates can't go up. So this is where the dollar dies, and silver reverts to a normal 1:14 GSR forevermore.

Yes, agreed. And they took a lot of deliveries. Again I agree, legal and morally legitimate.
>Are you aware of how high high inflation was at the time?
Actually, I didn't know that. Makes sense to get physical at a time like that

But how were the Hunts scapegoated? In the end, they had the most glorious silver stack in history, and the government fucked them in the ass by restricting buying at COMEX so they lost everything at the futures market. They were wronged but how were they scapegoated?

>> No.24295810

>>24295674

2011 was unfortunately a headfake. Short-term interest-rates (Fed Funds/Official Bank Rate) were at 0%, but the ten-year treasury still had a 5% nominal interest-rate. So the bankers still had some ammunition left to use Q. E. and keep the system going for a few more years. Crypto was also a convenient distraction (the mcap of BTC could buy the annual supply of investable silver six times over). But Q. E. has now caused real yields to become really negative, and 2018 has shown us that interest-rates can never go up again without crashing the system, so this truly is the end. A bond-market collapse is inevitable. China, Russia, and other countries are also perfectly positioned to dump the dollar and go back to gold.

Yes but the implications for mankind at large is what is depressing. We can preserve our wealth but the great majority of people will not. Families with children will suffer. This is completely unacceptable given how long humans have been in existence. We can send people to go walk on the moon and put Pornhub access in the palms of billions worldwide but can’t have stable currencies, a genuine “open” economy, and basic bread and water, let alone prosperity, for billions of people. A 30,000 ft view of humanity’s condition should be enough to convince anyone that there are wicked forces actively engaged in sabotaging humanity. Things just don’t get this dire on their own. That’s why I find these threads both immensely helpful and illuminating but also depressing.

>> No.24295911

>>24295746

The reason why I say the Hunts were scapegoated, is because the high inflation of the 70s and 80s would have caused people to run to silver anyway. The Hunts were prescient enough to front-run that, because they wanted to protect their billions. But if they hadn't done so, other billionaires simply would have taken delivery of those same silver bars. You lost almost half your money by buying bonds. The dollar was going to collapse unless the Fed raised interest-rates, but people blamed the Hunts for all the problems that were going on with the dollar.

You can usually find platinum for about 69 over spot if you look around online. That being said only physical Platinum is kind of difficult because a lot of places don’t want to buy it when it’s time for you to sell. If you’re interested in platinum maybe buy an ounce or two, but you might wanna look into one of the major platinum producers which all happen to be in South Africa. I own one of them and it’s done pretty well for me.

Because LCS are fucking scammers. They got way too cocky this year. I was kinda ok with paying a bit over spot back in march because they would be selling at a loss otherwise with spot at $12-14.
But now the price doubled the premiums still are x2-3 what they were compared to last year, while spot is higher, and these kikes are making a killing on both arbitrage and premium because demand is strong af.
Fuck these jews. Forget all the others reasons, it's just LCS thinking they can get away with it.

This could easily be done today because of what a tiny minority of the population private owners of PMs are.

No dramatic door to door confiscations of all PMs needed, just a few exemplary 20 year federal prison sentences for those heinous speculators attempting to undermine faith in our currency and evade their lawful taxes owed. Pour encourager les autres.

Also, PM owners often assume that the general public would be sympathetic to them and this is not necessity the case at all putting it mildly.

It's not hard to imagine a future where smalltime owners of precious metals are often the targets of suspicion, ill-will and even outright hatred.

Governments will make the case that smalltime holders of precious metals are undermining faith in "money," and cynically profiting from the suffering and impoverishment of their fellow citizens. This narrative will be easy enough to promote, since it will unfortunately be true. You can say, "technically," but yes, it will be true, even if it is not their fault.

Owners of precious metals will plead that, "I was only forward-looking and prudent, surely I should be entitled to at least partially benefit from the shift," but the average person cannot be counted on to be remotely sympathetic.

And, perversely enough, the average person may even look at a suddenly wealthy or even just comfortable precious metals investor with a harsher eye than the actual super-rich (since the latter look different, have a different background, and may seem more entitled to their wealth).

On the other hand, to see an average person, seemingly no different from himself, spared hardship through what will seem a "random" choice that simply was not promoted by the mainstream at the time, may prove intolerable.

There will be a terrible danger of being neither rich enough or poor enough for the poor. The rich will be safely geographically separate from the mob, will you?

Because in the digital age they can just use a simple search algorithm to pull up what everyone has due to the papertrail regestered PMs have now. It won't be them going door to door. They will just go to a computer, look up your name, and it will show how much gold you have compiled from your transaction history. Then they simply send you a letter saying "surrender the X amount of gold we know you have or face consequences." Between this, and making it virtually impossible to trade precious metals, either for fiat currency or directly for goods, they can plausibly make holding PMs mostly risk and little profit for the average person.

They could lower the mandatory sales reporting threshold to around $500, and bump the tax rate to whatever is necessary to discourage sales. Obviously a black market would continue to exist (one did in the US for most of the 20th century). But as with most of what the government seeks to discourage, one doesn’t need to completely stamp out such activity, only reduce it to an acceptable level.

Thanks to technology that didn’t exist in the previous period of suppression, the authorities will have more and less blunt tools at their disposal to enforce whatever they see fit.

There's no reason to do this shit anymore. People are full blown consoomers. Private debt is in and saving money is out. Yearly iPhone drops, Yeezy's, trading card games, digital costumes for their video game characters, amazon addictions - there are an UNLIMITED number of ways to piss away money in 2020. Some people save but they are the rare ones. Even rarer than that are the ones who save their money in gold/silver. Instead of convincing people to turn their money in, convince them to not save it at all. Corporations have never been so effective at getting consumers to part ways with their money over frivolous things. I actually do have a solution, though it takes a lot of work for people with stacks already. Find local buyers who are willing to sell gold no questions asked for cash. You can find them on craigs list and the like. Then, sell a small amount of your gold the normal way, but then take the cash and immediately turn around and buy in cash in person. You can ware a mask now and not raise suspicion because of the virus, so you can do this in front of a grocery story in a nice part of town at peak hours if you want and nobody will bat an eye. Hell, you aren't even doing anything illegal anyways. Basically, you will slowly "exchange" your tracked gold for untracked gold. Get good at checking if its real gold also, don't get scammed and remember FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO IT IN SMALL AMOUNTS OVER TIME.

My prediction: they may come up with an arbitrary threshold that sounds reasonable or even generous to the average person (500oz of silver, 5oz of gold, generous allowances for numismatics and jewelry) and define a holding smaller than that as lawful and no problem, but any significantly larger than that as an amount that only a criminal running an illegal precious metals business would hoard.

In this way, they will be able to force anyone with a large stash to keep it completely secret and difficult to trade or sell, while proclaiming that there is in fact no prohibition on ownership, just a very reasonable regulation in the interest of monetary stability and cracking down on undesired speculation.

Because the vast majority don’t own any PMs and don’t share /pmg/‘s views on these things, if the government says these restrictions are needed to stabilize the economy in a difficult situation they will agree. Why would they not?

As I said before they will not come knocking at your door, they will simple type your name into a database that has compiled transaction histories from gold sellers and buyers, see how much gold you should have and will send you a letter to surrender it or face prosecution, which the courts will find in favor of the government swiftly if you fight it because of last time. Some low tier gov worker will just put your name into a computer, see how much you should have based on compiled data, and then put your name and that value on a list where someone else will probably use to make letters telling you to surrender it. The court cases if fought will also be swift as this has precedent that this is legal, so there isn't much expenditure their either. The digital age has made everything easier, for us and for the government. It's no trouble for them at all anymore to get whatever small stack someone has. Hell, they probably have a piece of software that can do what those two low tier gov workers do. Its very cheap now for the government to try and take your PMs, and THAT is what is concerning the most for small holders.

You misunderstand the incentive the government has: to discourage ordinary people from owning large-scale PM holdings, as this undermines faith in the national currency.

The government doesn’t care about banks’ precious metals holdings, because banks’ holdings don’t compete with the national currency as a medium of exchange.

The point here won’t be even the confiscation of wealth, or squashing the very little guy per se (although desu now that I think about it that is the result of current monetary policy).

But anyway, the point will be very simple: DISCOURAGING THE USE OF METALS as an alternative store of value or currency that competes with the national currency.

If you want to keep a few old coins like a stereotypical old British boomer with some old silver crowns and gold sovereigns nearly sorted by the reigning monarch, they likely won’t stop you. What they will strongly discourage you from doing is anything that smacks of speculating in the price of metals or commodities trading, or above all the use of PM coins as a commodity money to buy goods or services with.

If they focus like a laser on these two risks, they are likely to succeed at least sufficiently: and because most people don’t have PMs, they have a vested interest in suppressing the use of them, for a similar reason the government does. Just as the government can’t allow PMs to compete with the governments notes as the circulating medium or primary form of savings of the nation, nor can those ordinary people who have their wealth tied up in fiat. Your PMs risk threatening the common people without PMs whose wealth is in the national fiat currency, just as they threaten the central banks who print and circulate the latter.

Not even digits, and I'm checking this. Crypto has gotten the better out of a lot of us at one point, and it's usually this that makes one realize this. When metals pump, they typically don't go down hard at all like crypto. You bought XRP at an unusual high for that particular coin. Someone was anxious to unload years if bagholding.

But like this anon said, >>24301096 it's a euphoric feeling knowing your wealth is truly solidified once you start stacking. Nobody can take it from you. If I have advice, start with some silver, preferably 90% (junk silver as it's commonly known) to build up as much weight as possible, and get yourself some .999 rounds and bars so you have something pure.

Easier technologically but harder in terms of trust. The people who stack in 2020 have the most deep seated distrust of the government. 100 years ago people probably distrusted the government but were mostly willing to comply. Gun ownership and stacking go hand in hand. What makes you think that these people would just give their shit up because of a letter? What does the government stand to gain by confiscating gold/silver? The potential gains are much lower and the risks are much higher.

What I mean is that the trouble of taking thousands of small stack owners isn't worth it for the gov. The moment a citizen claims innocence and disputes, it goes to court. And cases could take months to solve, and that takes valuable time and resources. And if the economy is at the point where the government has to go confiscating PM's, they will have their hands full with a whole assortment of societal chaos. They won't be going for /pmg/ stacklets. If they want to steal precious metals they will go to the big boys.
>>24301767
The government's incentive will be to deal with the riots believe me. People will begin bartering in smaller circles with all kinds of things, not just metals. The government has absolutely no way of stopping that from happening. Once the currency is down in the dumps there will be no more reason to try and encourage people to use it because people will simply choose not to regardless.

>You act like they haven't done this before and gotten away with it. They have.

Some thoughts on confiscation.

1) The dollar nearly collapsed in the 70s and 80s, and there was no talk of PMs getting confiscated then. Government tyranny was restricted to the Hunt Brothers.

2) If you hold a part of your bullion offshore, then, by historic standards, it is completely safe from confiscation. Offshore bullion was not confiscated in 1933. (This is why people should make use of services like BullionVault, Kinesis, and GoldMoney.)

3) Jewellery was not confiscated in 1933.

4) Mining stocks were not confiscated in 1933: Homestake Mining, the ancestor of Barrick Gold, went up 6x during the Great Depression.

5) Four billionaires (Eric Sprott, Ross Beattie, Tom Kaplan, Ricardo Pliega) have 90-100% of their net-worth in precious metals mining stocks, so clearly not troubled about the idea of confiscation or nationalization.

Conclusion. If you diversify among coins, jewellery, mining stocks, and offshore vaults, you will be safe.

I believe, also, that, as gold, silver, and mining stocks go up, the power of the people who hold them will proportionately increase, so that they will be a check on tyrannical attempts to rob from people who hold sound money. Peter Schiff will be a multi-billionaire, and Eric Sprott will be wealthier than Jeff Bezos. I hope that Peter Schiff stands for the presidency.

Has anyone read the shadowcontract theory from desogames? https://www.desogames.com/shadowcontracts-and-a-history-of-comex-manipulation-in-2020/
Help me out, the guy is an autistic foreigner so I want to make sure I'm understanding his conclusion correctly.
>He's saying that the bullion banks are using these shadow contracts to move gold and silver from the eligible to registered category on the comex without having a big headline "standing for deliver" number that would spook people. No rational person would sell-to-open a futures contract after it goes into delivery, especially with the current supply crunch. You'd be better off selling it on a further dated month. So the banks are using these "shadowcontracts" to move the bullion from the trading desks' ledgers to the general ledger of the banks? And on top of that, everyone already knows that the "eligible" number is inflated, so there's virtually nothing left in the eligible stockpile?

Actually, they will probably try it, since herr schwab already warned us, goyim, wont be allowed to own anything anymore.
But we simply don't have any other option left, the economy is imploding, the currencies are on the process of getting utterly destroyed to serve their (((agenda))), real estate is in a huge bubble, just like bonds and stonks. Crippling debt is smothering everything, what is left to get around the hyperinflation enginereed by these psychos to make us all poors? Just lands and PMs, both are easily confiscable and taxable, but even more so with lands, since it's rather hard to hide a terrain or to move it. At least with my stack i can decide to fuck off elsewhere, put my rocks in my car and move away, if this shithole have nothing to offer anymore but tyranny, eternal enslavement and white genocide.

The truth is anon violence and money are the rulers of this material plane. What you are witnessing is a disagreement between the two of them, where the government is extending its violence, but the money is withholding it's funding of said violence. The Banks will crash the markets and economy, unless the government writes them a cheque via QE. Then Gold will spike again, as rates become essentially negative. >The Banks will crash the markets and economy, unless the government writes them a cheque via QE
You are missing an important point, all the mess we are in is mostly the collateral damage of a silence war going on for the control of the world : central banks VS banks.
In order to implement the NWO, the centralization of money creation is vital, it's the most important element of control over populations. For this the central banks MUST totally destroy the banking system. That's why ZIRP and NIRP have been implemented : with no interests revenus, the FED, ECB, etc are slowly starving banks to death since 2010. They managed to survive for a while, but now we are at the absolute breaking point, banks are dead, they exhausted all their reserves, they tried to win some time merging, fusions after fusions, and creating new ""services"" to steal few shekels here and there. But this is the end, and i'm convinced the whole scamdemic is in big part in order to create an excuse for the implosion of the banking system and prepare the transition for CBDCs.
Just look at the stonks of EVERY big bank since 2010 : 80% loss in stock value in average, it's dropping like a rock and accelerating. Yesterday i was reading a fun news in my country : a bankrupt bank who was just bought by another bankrupted bank decided to merge with a third bankrupted bank. All this just to gain a little bit of time, firing everybody, selling the remaining assets and real estate of the banks.

DesoGames is a genius. Rob Kientz was intelligent enough to recognize that from the beginning, and took him under his wing. Craig Hemke unfortunately dismissed him, but he is now coming to the same realizations that Deso did. See this Tweet from yesterday:

https://twitter.com/TFMetals/status/1331603959782445057

"Why all of the interest in November Comex gold deliveries?
November is a "non-delivery" month with the trading and delivery volume in December, instead.
Here are the delivery totals since 2015:

Nov15: 214
Nov16: 2,699
Nov17: 1,065
Nov18: 219
Nov19: 1,731
Nov20 so far: 9,656"

Deso below:

"This has been going on for LITERAL MONTHS.

I've linked my research to you before yknow."

Yes, you essentially understand what Deso is saying. There has been a secret raid on the COMEX for months now via these "shadow contracts," but it is now coming into the open. People seem to be desperately getting as much metal off the COMEX as fast as they possibly can.

When I say "took under his wing" I mean that Kientz has understood the value in Deso's ideas, and promoted them to the best of his ability. He wrote articles for Yahoo Finance (since banned) and SeekingAlpha which summed up everything Deso was saying about shadow contracts. He defended the ideas against other COMEX specialists like Jan Nieuwenhuijs, and really stuck his head above the parapet to back Deso. He summed up his shadow contracts theory for his Youtube audience and gave Deso full credit for it. He has given Deso long interviews on all the subjects which he has written about, and allowed him to deliver his thoughts at length. Despite the fact that Deso is an unknown person, living on welfare, and has been held back in life by his mental health problems, Kientz has treated him as seriously and respectfully as he can, and seen the value in him.

Think of them as a speculative, fairly well diversified miner that is a little untransparent. They just got a new high-grade copper project and let's not forget that they also have some cobalt along with the silver at Castle Mine.
>They have great land but what's the chance of them drilling something ?
It's still speculative but I'm cautiously excited. They increased the mineralized zone by 500% in the first 1/5 of their maiden drilling program and just took a couple million financing today, probably going to increase their drilling program from the original 50km drilling.

The deposit is probably the nuggety type. Assays should've been out already especially considering they have their own lab but I'm not too worried, they probably won't report duds. That said I won't be adding any shares until I get to see those orgasmic assays

Stock reports: https://www.cmegroup.com/clearing/operations-and-deliveries/nymex-delivery-notices.html
Registered Silver: ~143.5 million toz = ~28,700 contracts
Registered Gold (less 400 oz bars): ~17 million toz = ~170,000 contracts
Dec GC OI: 47,000 contracts = 4,700,000 toz
Dec SI OI: 16,420 (lmao) contracts = 81,200,000 toz
Dec Micro Gold: 18,181 contracts = 180,000 toz (really doubtful any of these get delivered)
Dec Micro Silver OI: 1,746 contracts = 1,7460,000 toz (also doubtful of ANY delivery)

This gives a total of:
Silver total Dec OI: ~83 million toz
Gold total Dec OI: ~4.88 million toz

Even discounting gold stocks at Chinese discounting levels, it CAN'T default. The vaults would have to be empty
Silver *could* but still unlikely.
Obviously almost all that shit is re-hypotheticated, but unless all those actual owners also demand their metal in December, I don't see how it can happen

it's been said a million times here. our PMS are not for short term gain "investment"
it is long term preservation of wealth.
also reminder silver was below $5/oz as recently as early 2000s.
since then there have been opportunity to sell at highs in the neighborhood of 200% to 400% return compared to those lows.

long term holds. occasionally buy low, sell high as opportunity arises.

sometimes, slow and steady wins the race

Should have waited until it hit $2000 before you cashed out. That said, gold will never fail you.

I dunno man I was thinking about this yesterday. With fiat they've printed so much which in some ways has allowed for exponential growth in current society. I wonder if all this money wasn't printed and still backed by gold would we have had technology advance so quickly? Not that this is necessarily a good or bad thing, however personally I lean towards bad but that's just me and I haven't thought about it long enough to come up with a solid conclusion.
