When you buy XRP, you are hedging a bet that big Ripplenet customers are ultimately going to be onboarded to the XRP ledger. While there's not definitive proof of organizations like BoA using XRP yet, there's a lot of evidence to suggest that they will be using it in the future for money transfers. At the same time, you can already see smaller Ripple partners actually using XRP for ODL, in order to try and get a head up on competition. Without XRP, Ripplenet is no better than current messaging systems used by entities like SWIFT, except faster. It still requires different currencies to be locked up in Nostro-Vostro accounts. XRP allows for actual transfers of value to occur, instantaneously as a bridge currency that is not subject to manipulation by either party conducting the transfer. It's not far fetched to believe that Ripple would want to get their customers to use their biggest product after establishing a relationship, and building trust with them on Ripplenet. This is what you're investing in. The chance that this will happen. If it was already 100% confirmed, you would be priced out.

People like you just seem greedy to me. You want a moonshot with no risk.

If XRP ever reaches a point where it's moving trillions of dollars, the coin will have substantially more valuable than it currently is. There simply would not be enough XRP to meet the demands of replacing something like SWIFT unless it was worth much more. This isn't even factoring in how much XRP will actually be circulating out of the 100 billion. Personally, I think it will see something like 10$ in a 1-2 year timeframe.

On Demand Liquidity. It's Ripple's solution to provide instant international money transfers. The current standard (SWIFT) doesn't actually transfer money, it sends messages between prefunded nostro-vostro accounts. ODL (powered by XRP) eliminates the need for these accounts and could potentially free up trillions of dollars.

You realize the current system doesn't actually "move" money right? It goes like:
>Yes sir we will move your USD to Euros
>Let me just end a SWIFT message to a corresponding Eurobank so that they know to allocate the funds from their vostro account for us.
There are trillions of dollars sitting in these Nostro-Vostro accounts to handle the volume of messages that occur each day. XRP eliminates the need for them and frees up money for the banks, while also being considerably faster.

Why do you think I think that? What's the limit to the size of a bitcoin transfer? Is it limited by liquidity on exchanges? Why would it be? If you're going to use trusted nodes to settle transfers you can do it using whatever currency you want. You're not trading anything, you're transferring it. If what you're transferring represents something that needs to be physically moved you settle that regularly using the information given by the trusted nodes and the agreement you made to use them. If you're buying xrp with dollars to move them overseas that has to be settled physically anyway unless you use crypto dollars in which case you can just send them directly with almost no cost.

I don't think it's going to go higher than 10-20$ in a best case scenario. But I had years to accumulate at 15-25 cents and now it's 2-3x times higher than that. Could be over a dollar soon. People are getting priced out gradually.
