What I've said here is super optimal. You could probably run more workers than you have cores, since you can always assign a core to a docker/virtual box instance even though another uses it??? Not sure about this one, can someone confirm... Too lazy to start up virtual box.
But I'm 100% that on a 16 core processor you can have 8 workers running and you could still be able to watch a movie and maybe even play a game depending on the amount of work your workers do.

Oh, forgot to mention that you can also do work with your GPU. Since GPUs also provide computing power and GPUs provide a different set commands they can execute fast. Everything related to rendering is GPU work.
