Remember to only buy broad market index funds. 99% of professional investors fail to beat the market, what makes you think you can? Simply buy the entire market and live your life. Stop stock picking. Stock picking is literally gambling, and you don’t want to gamble. Buy the passive index fund.

This. Look at SPY, way to weighted on Apple. If the top holdings get taken down a notch by reality those etfs are gonna sink and stay down long term after all a heavy concentration on the best performers will also dump it hard when they fall and all the other holdings were low to begin with. Id rather take my chances with individual picks that have better odds of making me rich as Im more researched on them. Plus i want to retire young not old which i can just let the government handle rather than spend my time investing.

SPY at the bottom this year and using Friday's closing price has yielded approximately a 1.62x return

So many individual picks have yielded much more. Personal picks that have yielded a 3x, wish i went all in on these picks. Or meme stocks that have yielded 5x or greater. Nonetheless most of my picks have yielded better returns than SPY.

Honestly if I got it I would probably end up falling in that category because I was a lazy ass for most of my life and barely ever went outside. Now a days I try to at least walk for an hour or so everyday but if I actually got covid I would probably start getting paranoid about every little shortness of breath while doing something, thinking that it's the 'rona when in reality it's just that I'm an out of shape piece of shit

How about "just be mad at the germans for allowing nazis to take over their state and force us to commit national and diplomatic suicide"? Fuck I hate nazis so much. Germany went from economic, philosophical, diplomatic, everything powerhouse, country of the future, to the kind of caricature that frogs used to draw of Prussia, an army with a territory, no nation, no culture. And then they didn't even win the war. FUCK, I HATE NAZIS.

I'm not going to try to teach you anything, but i will give you something to think about -
Go to your favorite charting site or broker and load up a monthly chart of SPY or SPX or AAPL or whatever big stock or index you like. Make sure to load up the volume along with it. Squeeze the chart as much as you can and tell me - what pattern is easily recognizable upon looking at the volume through the years?
Now, try to think, where are we going forward from here?
Another point to think about - if everybody knows that investing in safe blue chip stocks and the big indexes is "better" than trying to beat the market, what will happen going forward?
Hint - when a crew is on a boat and everybody yells "all to the right side", what happens to the boat?
