What you need to ask your self is, if you sell those stocks now, can you make your money back by investing elseware.

those are some tough tickers to look at. All I can really recommend is to read some books on valuation and maybe a couple about trading. I considered The Intelligent Investor and Reminiscences of a Stock Operator to be two very good books. They're a little old and RoaSO can be a little dramatic (and probably fictionalized) at times but they're both pretty worthwhile reads.

liquidating and starting over might not be the worst idea. Books like that are the reason I don't invest in gold miners/oil speculators like you seem to.
