the only way you're going to get your questions answered is though real life experience thats just how the market works. I'm not you so I don't even know how you plan on trading. I could tell you to buy at the open tomorrow but then what? are you going to wait around for me to come back and tell you when to sell?

Wow! Buzz kill Jim. One company decides to IPO and you throw the system away? How else do u expect new money to enter the market? Sheesh.

On that note, 22.50 is expensive! The only justification for this price, is the user-based advertisement, otherwise free app is free. Prepare for $KING to jump and dip sometime in April. Best time to short might be today.

10:18 AM EDT, 03/26/2014 (MT Newswires) -- Exelixis (EXEL) shares tumbled to a more than two-year low Wednesday after the biotechnology company late Tuesday said an independent data-monitoring committee notified it that a planned interim analysis of its ongoing COMET-1 Phase 3 trial in men with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer was completed and recommended that it proceed to final analysis, without providing any information as planned on whether the trial's primary endpoint was achieved.
The shares plunged 33% to recently trade at $4.30, after touching a low of $4.05, the weakest level since November 2010.
In the update, Exelixis noted the interim analysis "was also planned to assess if the trial achieved its primary endpoint." However, it didn't say if that endpoint was achieved. The company noted it didn't include a futility analysis; such analyses typically assess if a clinical trial will be unable to achieve its objectives.
Exelixis said it continues to anticipate top-line data from COMET-1 in 2014.

ok so basically they released VERY vague guidance regarding one of the major drugs in their portfolio

So one of my stocks $GGS I guess file for bankruptcy. Went down over 60% last night.

I told you guys. Whatever the fuck I do, is the wrong choice. Whatever I touch will fucking fail.

So now that $GGS can no longer be traded, what does this mean to my remaining shares?

Im thinking about just liquidating all my positions and starting the fuck all over.

The only reason why Im still holding my failed companies, GGS, KIOR, PAL, is the hopes they will eventually bounce back.

But of course, since I'm holding them, they wont.

Shit happens. I have a bad stock that I wish would recover. They got slammed in the 2007 crash than their new technology they were developing failed. Now they just limp along.

What you need to ask your self is, if you sell those stocks now, can you make your money back by investing elseware.

Currently I dont have any stocks I am confident in enough to sell and reallocate those moneys in to. So they are not hurting me by sitting in my portfolio.

those are some tough tickers to look at. All I can really recommend is to read some books on valuation and maybe a couple about trading. I considered The Intelligent Investor and Reminiscences of a Stock Operator to be two very good books. They're a little old and RoaSO can be a little dramatic (and probably fictionalized) at times but they're both pretty worthwhile reads.

liquidating and starting over might not be the worst idea. Books like that are the reason I don't invest in gold miners/oil speculators like you seem to.

he's totally right though, I mean all you have to do is think about what exactly these companies do in business terms and there's never a justification to long them. They basically scratch around in the dirt and try to strike gold. This goes all the way back to the california gold rush - barely any miners "hit it bit" but the people who built up industry around them sure did.

as in buy CMI is you're bullish on the miners.

No. Brokers don't care to make predictions or bets, they just want to collect the fees.
