Ok so here's the rundown for retardards 101:

The problem with the current cloud providers is that if you buy cloud power form let's say Amazon AWS they'll charge you for their data center maintanance (https://www.datacenterdynamics.com/en/news/wikileaks-publishes-list-aws-data-center-locations-colo-providers/)) while also charging you for the computing power itself.
Here at iExec you don't get charged for the "upkeep" because ANYONE with a working computer can join the network and execute tasks for someone else and get paid with RLC by the person who wants a task executed.

So recap, RLC is cheaper due to anyone being able to join the network and compute for other people. Amazon AWS can't compare because they need to pay for their data centers (security, ventilation, electricity, water, expert personel, ...). And a home computer doesn't need eg. expert personel, security, ventilation, ...

And this is all possible because it's (anyone can join and provide as much or little as they want. GPU and CPU) decentralized and because the work that the worker receives is inside a Intel SGX Enclave.

A Intel SGX Enclave: Imagine you received a box and you don't know what's inside it, but you know how to problem that is inside it and can send the correct result back to the person requesting the answer. So therefore you have NO CLUE what the fuck you just computed, but you still computed the correct result.

The Intel SGX enclaves also makes a lot of other things possible that are extremely vital to the RLC ecosystem.

>>24033919
This is how you set up a worker: https://docs.iex.ec/for-workers/quick-worker-start
It's all really well document, you should really do a bit more of YOUR OWN research if you're interested. I mean it's literally CLEAR that you haven't even seen their presentation video on twitter, because you wouldn't have all of these questions if you did.

I personally hold 17k

But the before mention problem with current cloud providers isn't the only one. For instance, if for some stupid reason AWS falls literally 40% of the internet/service go down with it. 100% of netflix runs on AWS. If AWS doesn't work, so doesn't Netflix. iExec RLC works always, because it's highly unlikely that every single worker would fail for some reason. Also a lot of other problems that iExec RLC fixes

>>24037210
What it can do: decentralized cloud, trusted executions, cloud resources (data sets, computing power, ...) marketplace, trusted doracles, tokenization & monetization of cloud assets (NFTs), ENS and it's FULLY COMPLIANT (French SEC approved, so basicly EU approved, so basicly USA approved, so basicly Coinbase, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, ... approved)

Partnerships and collaborations: Intel, Alibaba Cloud, Nvidia, EU commision (Ontochain) + French SEC approves, Ubisoft, EEA, CCC, EDF, Chainlink, OpenSSF, IBM Cloud, NCTU, Genesis Cloud, H7, BPI France, Scontain, Shift, Fortanix, TFCloud, Nerdalize, Ubisoft, Cloud & Heat, Stimergy, OpenFog, ...

Next technical release: V5 2nd part. FOG/edge computing to keep the latency low for tasks that require real time data.

Upcoming adoption releases: eRLC which is a fully compliant version of RLC for companies and is 1:1 interchangeable with RLC. If you look at the adoption roadmap you can also clearly see NDAs being revealed soon

Other: DOT parachain, sidechains that handle computations with 0 fees, Intel SGX and TEE intergrated oracles, best memes on the internet, they are working with google

Envision if you will a future where blockchain projects have real world utility, as opposed to our current state where we are all speculating, trading, making money (or losing it) based on ideas. For any of these ideas to actually function in the real world, they need to have the ability to compute data. Iexec aims to offer computing power in a decentralised marketplace where theoretically any and every computer can access and profit off of computing power, and anyone can access this marketplace to utilise the available computing power. The potential at its peak is a literal world supercomputer, and its potential today is to enable blockchain projects to transition from an idea to real world utility.

We can't move forward in the blockchain realm without 2 things: oracle's and computing power. Oracle's have been solved by Link and computing power will be solved by Iexec.
