Its going to simply be different depending on what coin you're looking at. Just approach every coin with the mindset of "how could this eventually play a role in exploiting labor" and read through the documentation for the platform.

Read about some coins that are being shilled here, and read more marxist stuff (not necessarily more Marx himself, but contemporary marxist econ like Monthly Review) and thinking through the link between exploitation and the asset (or the lack there of) will become more evident to you.

That's the first step. Most projects that have an idea that would work like this still fail. From there you're going to have to eat of the breadcrumbs, watch how the project is developing and who its partners/investors are.

The vast, vast majority of coins will fail, because most of them are actually shit, no matter how promising you think they are, even after you've used this process to whittle them down. This just gives you a better chance of not completely shitting yourself. Also another tip is to not buy a token when its pumping and there are threads all over biz about it. Instead jot down the name somewhere, look into its fundamentals and connections, and if it still looks good after that, then maybe buy some once it settles down and people stop talking about it.
