you mean for the teams to keep functioning kek, they’re overspending a lot imo as you said so its a risky investment, they wouldnt be crowdfunding if they didnt need to, merch and sponsorships + VC are probably easier way to make money with less headaches
its also a bet on the currently popular games like CS/LoL remaining that way for 5-10 years to keep FNC fanbase growing
