From last thread

>Total supply: 87,000,000
870 iExec represents how much is needed to make it to 1 million dollars if the protocol is valued at 100 billion dollars.

8700 at 10 billion.

87000 at 1 billion.

There is an expectation certain quality crypto projects will reach valuations of 10 billion+

Therefore, in the case of iExec, a "make it" stack is 8700, while a suicide stack is 870.

>Digital oil
iExec is the compute layer of the crypto ecosystem.

Ethereum’s VM (virtual machine) is excellent for simple transactions and business logic—things like managing the rules regarding the creation and storage of information. And although Ethereum is Turing-complete and theoretically capable of performing any computational feat given infinite time, the VM struggles when performing rigorous computations efficiently and at reasonable cost.

That’s not what Ethereum was made for. Running intensive computations on Ethereum would be like trying to run Grand Theft Auto 5 on Apple’s 1987 Macintosh II.

The solution to this is offchain computing. dApps need to be able to do their heavy computing offchain (meaning not on the Ethereum blockchain) and then bring the information and results back onto the Ethereum blockchain for verification. iExec enables just this.

The blockchain economy will need a service like iExec. In 2018, as dApps begin releasing their platforms, it will become increasingly clear that Ethereum will be ineffective for all that computation. With AI, smart cities, VR, and IoT all utilizing advanced smart contracts, there will need to be an offchain computing solution. iExec is that solution.

TLDR: iExec processes the computations away from the blockchain and then transfers the results back to the blockchain. dApps can use this to perform complex computations like rendering, uploading, and all the requirements for AI, IoT, and VR, all without slowing down the Ethereum network.

RLC could unironically make ETH more valuable than BTC. Perhaps when ETH marketed itself as "the world computer", it actually meant that it would end up being the backbone for the world supercomputer, iExec.

The amount of value that will end up going through iExec could possibly be more than the value of a simple digital currency, as it's both the epitome of "blockchain technology" as well as a currency/"digital natural resource"

That's a very unrealistic scenario where you presume that computers aren't located on every continent. I for one am from the EU and I can't wait to provide RLC with some computing power when the public worker pools are getting work. But you need to understand that you can make your own pool which only people who you want to join can see it. So for instance; Nvidia, Google, Amazon make a "pack" they say that Nvidia can host a worker pool and Google and Amazon can join, and they can easily make this happen. They can instead of using the public worker pool make one among themselves for their purposes with their servers, but they can trust each other due to the nature of it being decentralized and confidential. Nvidia data can easily go through Google/Amazon and Google/Amazon don't have a clue what they're computing because it's all done inside a Intel SGX enclave.

A scenario where there is not a single computer somewhere near you is very improbable. It's only possible from the very start of the network. But more people will join when jobs start flying into the public worker pools, because why would you run your computer on 10% and not use the other 90%, when you can easily provide it as cloud power to someone who ACTUALLY NEEDS IT??? And you can provide CPU and GPU power. So for instance, when you browse 4chan you don't really use most of your available resources, therefore you can provide them to iexec and can browse traps on random while still making money so your mother doesn't have to cry herself to sleep every night.

Yes, the general use case is exactly what you said. But there is more to it, because the work is inside a Intel SGX enclave. Which means people who get works don't know what they're doing, but are able to produce the correct result. Which means Nvidias data can be easily used computed by Google without Google knowing it. Also RLC has cloud assets tokenization which are also inside an Intel SGX enclave, which means you can sell your AI datasets to other people without the other people knowing what the exactly data is and stealing it from you. Because you literally have a AI data set NTF which you borrow to other people for money so they can train their AI models. And they've go doracles which are superior to that of chain link due to them being confidential doracles

Yes, exactly. But not every computer/pool. Only the public work pool and other pools which you were invited to. But the owner of the computer who does the work does indeed not know what he is doing, he just knows what he must do in order to return a correct result. This is exactly what a Intel SGX enclave does. Someone can compute on your data without them knowing what the data is.
