Nonetheless this being accurate, I want to make a counter: BABA has too much power in China. Making anti-trust laws will only give way to BABA's competitors to rise up. BABA's upper hand was having a big fat share of stocks of most logistic companies in China, and thus making it harder for competitors to rise up. I believe that, surely, BABA is a great investment, BUT that investment probably have higher returns if done into Pinduoduo. Obviously, Pinduoduo has a much debt, but it's steadily rising in terms of popularity.

>thinking that any president is going to go against major corporations.

NGMI. Right wingers think that the democrats are against big economies and leftists think that democrats have no impact on the economy, but are instead good "in the long run". Both are *almost*.

Democrats can do what republicans cannot because of A E S T H E T I C S. If you think that democratic presidents aren't still cucks for major corporations you are too caught up in your own ego to see it. Biden isn't necessarily going to help the same companies that grew under Trump (and believe me, we will hear about it) but he is definitely going to grow different companies. I'm thinking defense, housing, and healthcare will be the major ones to grow.

>but what about muh nationalized health insurance.

If you look into it at all you will realize that "nationalized health insurance" under Obamacare (which I have no doubt Biden will only make stronger) is just absolutely bonkers levels of good for the healthcare sector.

>everyone NEEDS to have insurance
>no increase in bargaining power
>insurance companies "pay" for more drugs (jk, it's still 100% the consoomer)
>healthcare sectors still allowed to charge retarded amounts of money for cheap products
>asymmetry of power between the consumer and the supplier only grows
>and so on

I'm telling you, Biden is not necessarily going to grow coal mining or whatever else Trump grew, but he is going to help fuck over consoomers in such a way that everyone is fine with it and stocks will rise.

I'm looking at dialysis, shitty housing trusts, and techno-dystopian stocks over the weekend to decide which ones I'll long for the next four years (or, at the very least, until Biden dies of being old as fuck). PLTR, unironically, is perfect under a Biden presidency because Biden's constituency (leftists) is much more chill about mass surveillance than Trump's (auth right).

This. Libs were "against" it because it was a republican president and big-dick moves like mass surveillance are perfect for republican aesthetics, even though they truly serve authoritarian (left or right) goals. Republicans pass bills that say "fuck you" to their "enemies" (minorities, libs, and everyone else outside their paradigm; Democrats pass bills that just further cuck Americans, but are really high minded and nice about it.

Again, buy stocks that will cuck you in the long run. Government backed companies especially: student loans, housing, healthcare, corporations that are "too big to fail", they will all do well under Biden.

I'm thinking of a way to boomer invest with leverage that's disciplined and blind to emotion.

I was thinking that on the 3rd Friday of March, June, September, and December, I buy VTI call contracts expiring 1 year out. They will be bought at a certain percentage moneyness (say, 15% OTM) every time, no matter what the market is doing. Even with all the crazy shit happening this year, VTI is up 11.12% YTD, a respectable return for a boomer portfolio even if COVID never happened.

Sell when one or more criteria are met:
1) A certain percentage moneyness
2) A certain percentage delta (if the delta approaches 1 you've used up the leverage)
3) A certain amount of time is left in the contract (worst case if the market goes down while you held the contract)

As I write this I see that VTI doesn't even offer contracts 1 year out, so maybe replace VTI with SPY.

To decrease the risk of a 2% pullback and crab right after you buy, maybe every single Friday buy 1 contract for the next monthly that's at least 1 year out.

The bulk of my portfolios is 60/40 stocks bonds with appropriate weightings of US / INTL for both stocks and bonds.

401k is 60/40.

I'm just going to be diversified as much as I can and 60/40 historically has the best risk adjusted success (in case I have 'special' thing where I need to pull money out on a short term notice).

I don't let anymore than 15% of my portfolio go into individual stocks. I attempt to buy when I think the price of what I'm buying more isn't expensive relative to the future prospects - then I decide if it's IRA or brokerage based on the dividend alone as I don't like tax drag. So something like AMZN would be in brokerage long term and something like MO is in the IRA feeding a target date retirement fund dividends for the most part.

Otherwise I'd say S&P 500 or Vanguard/Schwab/Fidelity low fee target date funds.

For me it's more about risk adjusted gains now as I do have a 'long term' ahead of me but also do side biz things where if an opportunity presented itself I'd like to be able to pull out money that is 'risk adjusted' versus being in a situation where I'd have to sell low due to even more volatility.

Good point.

You are a retard. You are actively trying to not pay attention to 40% of the market. To other people reading this - do not do this. Look at dark pool data. Add it to the indicators that you watch. Do not base your trading solely on dark pool data - but incorporate it into your calculus

There is no perfect investment.
If you want to invest in MSCI World to be "ultra safe" then sure go ahead. Biden could nuke Amazon or Apple to tomorrow, that's just the risk involved when investing in it and you have to see for yourself if that risk is worth the upside.

China is a market growing at retard speed. Not being invested there is just plain stupid. Just like not being invested in US big tech is.

I think everyone is expecting a dip for sure. Maybe not as much as if we were still hovering around $10. I think if we were still at $10 insiders might want to get while the getting is good. checked, but also because so few are real it makes it pretty much impossible to trust anyone. the only reason why i was able to get in on GME early was because the shill has really good, detailed DD which i looked into myself and agreed with the premise. that's the only sort of thing i'll ever accept, not just a simple "BUY THIS" or "SHORT THIS" but really detailed DD that explains why it's a good bet. and even then i only bet $2k on GME in my $50k account.

it's honestly just easier and safer to make consistent gains on brand name stocks with a long bias. usually worst case scenario you just DCA down and hodl until it goes up again so you never lose as long as you understand TA well enough to know what it means to buy low and sell high in an objective, quantitative manner relative to the long term average price.
