tbqh, I am of the opinion that low earnings are already priced in. No one is expecting them to make money. So long as they have ANY contracts of note, the stock will be fine in the medium term, if not short term.

They've been VERY public about their earnings for a whole now, and I don't think the earnings will come as a surprise to any of the major investors.

The old adage about never betting against the fed applies to PLTR. It's essentially a defense contractor on the verge of the next wave of defense AI. It'll crab like any other stock, but I think the stock is going to moon soon after earnings.

you can think of them as lotto tickets or as insurance

usually the proper way to use puts is like pic related, so you cap your losses in case there's a negative catalyst. E.g. if you were long on Wirecard at $15 but you had the foresight to put puts for $10 just in case, then when it filed for bankruptcy you only lost 33% instead of 100%

For calls, it's when you sell your shares but you're worried it might keep going up. So when you sell 1000 shares, you buy 10 contracts with part of your gains. Now you won't kill yourself when you get into the situation where you sold everything for $55 but then it suddenly mooned to $80 in a month or so, because your calls capture those gains for you and you're still happy

The way semiconductor companies work today is not to just pump out a bunch of special silicone transistors, but rather to create specialized logic circuits. This can be anything from ALU to CPU to just stupid RAM or literally just assorted gate chips.

The trick is, you can't rely on any of these companies to reliably produce these and generate profit. The real money comes from the products they get special patents for, that nobody else is ALLOWED to make. The CPU's and shit that are completely specific to the company are what will make them money.

So now tell me, why is it that you would rather wager your money in a random company in Taiwan, then to go with well known, well performing companies like Samsung, NVDA, AMD, etc. It's not that I'm retarded, you're taking a big risk and just don't want to see the truth.

They are opening a 3.5 billion dollar plant in Arizona. A chink stock with a plant in the USA? I am nearly 100% certain that they are going to skyrocket, even with their already large market cap.

As for the low interest rates, that's why I have TLT. I will be honest and say that I don't 100% understand it, but my understanding is that: the lower the interest rates are, the higher TLT goes. Additionally, interest rates and inflation have an inverse relationship (so, basically, betting on a deflationary crash of some kind). I got most of this from Steven Can Metre's youtube channel and he's definitely on the spectrum. It's a bunch of mumbo jumbo that I don't entirely understand, but I trust Russians when they talk about chess, Chinks when they talk about math, and Autistic people when they talk about the stock market.

I am 40% sure there will be a fairly large market dip pretty soon (like, next three months) due to lockdown or whatever, and I don't want to let a tragedy go to waste.

My buddy actually did the same shit so he could average up on AMD at 75, i think he's doing OK. He's still keeping TSM though, you don't wanna lose exposure to it entirely just in case Samsung eventually shits the bed with failing 3nm or something

Some time between 2021-2023, Samsung will probably fuck up like Intel since they're essentially trying to skip to 3nm when they've barely dipped into 5nm. It's almost certain, Intel tried the same bullshit in the past with trying to skip a node size and it's only put them behind
obviously will be another +30% day when that news drop

TSM has enough weight in ASML to tell them they're not allowed to sell EUVL machines to mainland China
TSM is hogging enough of the orders from ASML (they only produce enough machines in the double-digits) that Intel can't even transition to EUVL to try and catch up

SMIC managed to get an EUVL machine but they can't even use it because they're getting cucked by TSM. These are highly specialized machines

It would suck major asshole to jump into the EVs now, and then have Li Auto disappoint tomorrow, and then NIO disappoint on Tuesday. Much better to wait to hear their earnings, miss a bit of profits, but be sure of the position / go back in after you hear all is well
Sure you might miss out on some profits, but better than losing your capital on earnings

PLTR. GME has too much competition to be sure about it. PLTR already has some of the best algos. GME is like Barnes and Noble right now; didn't adjust to the changing marketplace and is suffering for it. They may be the next polaroid in a couple years, or they may become books-a-million.

My bet is, they will finally get a stable model in the next year and will have a few years of prosperity. If they can do that, I might long it. There is a chance that they will learn from their past and actively keep up with the market.

To all the anons who are 100% cash right now, I would seriously recommend you put some money in DNKN.
They've scored a deal to sell to Inspire Brands for $106.50 a share. DNKN is currently $106.12 a share. This means you can get 38 cents per share, or 0.3% return on investment. This is a guarantee'd 0.3% improvement on your dogshit cash play.
