find a youtube video and copy the code and run it yourself, than you need a strategy and you need to backtest that strategy and even if that kinda works, you still might lose money

its better to act as a trading expert and sell stupid strategies to even dumber people than you, thats how most traders make their money after all

been partially working on it for a year, starting with trading strategies, backtested throughout different time periods and trends, then actual integration of it.

biggest challenge is trading fee and slippage.

average trading fee of 0.5% means you will not get any profits trading repeatably on 1 minute resolution, irrespectively of how volatile asset is, black swans and sudden swings will do that but not your normal trading day

also i noticed some exchanges are rammed with trading bots operating solely on order book - each time i wanted to trade, bot would do exact amount twice both ways (buy and sell)

i'm on it, getting there, god wills it, but fuck me it's challenging.

Yes and it's a shitload of work. If you're not prepared to work on it every day for at least a year, it's probably not worth doing. If you think you can do it on weekends using some copypasted code from a youtube video, you're going to give up before even coming close to anything useful.
