If the new increased pace of production is
maintained, the stockpiles grow faster, making new increases less significant. It
remains practically impossible for goldminers to mine quantities of gold large
enough to depress the price significantly.
Only silver comes close to gold in this regard, with an annual supply growth rate
historically around 5–10%, rising to around 20% in the modern day. This is
higher than that of gold for two reasons: First, silver does corrode and can be
consumed in industrial processes, which means the existing stockpiles are not as
large relative to annual production as gold's stockpiles are relative to its annual
production. Second, silver is less rare than gold in the crust of the earth and
easier to refine. Because of having the second highest stock-to‐flow ratio, and its
lower value per unit of weight than gold, silver served for millennia as the main
money used for smaller transactions, complementing gold, whose high value

meant dividing it into smaller units, which was not very practical. The adoption
of the international gold standard allowed for payments in paper backed by gold
at any scale, as will be discussed in more detail later in this chapter, which
obviated silver's monetary role. With silver no longer required for smaller
transactions, it soon lost its monetary role and became an industrial metal, losing
value compared to gold. Silver may maintain its sporting connotation for second
place, but as nineteenth-century technology made payments possible without
having to move the monetary unit itself, second place in monetary competition
was equivalent to losing out.

This explains why the silver bubble has popped before and will pop again if it
ever inflates: as soon as significant monetary investment flows into silver, it is
not as difficult for producers to increase the supply significantly and bring the
price crashing down, taking the savers' wealth in the process. The best-known
example of the easy-money trap comes from silver itself, of all commodities.
Back in the late 1970s, the very affluent Hunt brothers decided to bring about the
remonetization of silver and started buying enormous quantities of silver, driving
the price up. Their rationale was that as the price rose, more people would want
to buy, which would keep the price rising, which in turn would lead to people
wanting to be paid in silver. Yet, no matter how much the Hunt brothers bought,
their wealth was no match for the ability of miners and holders of silver to keep
selling silver onto the market. The price of silver eventually crashed and the
Hunt brothers lost over $1bn, probably the highest price ever paid for learning
the importance of the stock-to‐flow ratio, and why not all that glitters is gold.

>>The Hunt brothers had invested heavily in futures contracts through several brokers, including the brokerage firm Bache Halsey Stuart Shields, later Prudential-Bache Securities and Prudential Securities. When the price of silver dropped below their minimum margin requirement, they were issued a margin call for $100 million. The Hunts were unable to meet the margin call, and, with the brothers facing a potential $1.7 billion loss, the ensuing panic was felt in the financial markets in general, as well as commodities and futures. Many government officials feared that if the Hunts were unable to meet their debts, some large Wall Street brokerage firms and banks might collapse.[2]

Basically the media is the new "shock troops" of the ruling order. They are there to pave the way for anything the want, so while we in effect have anarcho tyrannies, the media will of course make sure everyone thinks they are living in free republics/democracies. I dont think its an exaggeration that we will soon see the medias of various countries not only explaining why people are 100% NOT being disappeared to camps, but why if they were, it is a good thing that only facist nazis would oppose.

Of course people will still believe it too.

Why would you even care about a loan at this point? It was the best possible move, no share dilution, and its easily paid back in a year of production. I just do not understand why some people look at taking out a loan as horrible when the only other alternative is dilution, especially when its a loan that is the last part they needed for production.

Their share price has not even been properly revalued yet, if you can get it at 1$cad +/- 10c I would if I were you.

It's a bit more complicated than that anon. Hunt bros basically controlled the silver market and got huge gains by taking advantage of their position in the futures market by going long so much they caused a short squeeze, driving up the price of silver. Eventually the government and the Fed stepped in and froze ALL long positions, meaning everybody started selling because nobody could buy anymore! The Fed even restricted loans on speculative investments, eventually driving the Hunt brothers bankrupt and deflating the price of silver five-fold.
>Yet, no matter how much the Hunt brothers bought,
their wealth was no match for the ability of miners and holders of silver to keep
selling silver onto the market. The price of silver eventually crashed and the
This is false. They were restricted from going long in the futures market and people started shorting.

And here's the main part in the article:
>The U.S. government became concerned over what it saw as a clear attempt at manipulating the nation's silver reserves, and the fact that this corner involved the Middle East added some venom to the government's reaction: after all, the 1970s oil crisis was still fresh in the nation's mind. Federal commodities regulators introduced special rules to prevent any more long position contracts from being written or sold for silver futures. This stopped the Hunts from increasing their positions by temporarily suspending the fundamental rules of the commodities market. With longs frozen and shorts free to pile in, the price of silver began to slide. Margin calls on the loans began to take a toll on the Hunts' reserves to the point where they were paying millions a day in calls, storage fees and interest.

Nobody knows! But it will probably go up higher than what it is now in the future because
1) of silver's industrial uses in technology and attractive physical (chemical) properties
2) there will 100% be times in the future when the economy crashes or is in a downturn, which is when investors flock into safe havens. Gold comes first with silver usually following along
3) inflation drives up prices in the long term

Right now the price has inflated a lot this year so it will likely facw corrections along with gold. It might be that the greatest fears of the market have subsided or they might continue, causing another bullrun for gold and silver. I dont have the exact number in front of me, but the region and mines surrounding the workings that Klondike controls produced millions upon millions of ounces of silver and only shut down because the price of silver went down. The "Silvery Slocan" as the area is called has some of BCs richest mineral belts. I must note though that most of the ore in the area is higher in lead and zinc at depth, the silver grades appear in wide high value nudes which are connected by stringer veins. The Payne Mine in pic produced 150m Oz over 4 different versions of the mine in 40 years. They only tapped 10% of the original vein too.

Also consider that most gold and silver "easy" discoveries have been made and it is getting harder and harder to find tier 1 deposits.

So while BTC has the supply cap aspect to it, Gold and silver are not inflating at rates we previously expected them to, and too have a soft cap to their supply that almost no investors are pricing in.

Invest in both. But do your due dilligence, which you haven't.

>TLDR;
>Buy Bitcoin

Why does this always make me feel a bit queasy? Do BTC bulls genuinely believe that their favored crypto's moonshot is baked-in and inevitable as things stand now, or are they just anxious about their 10-year experiment and subconsciously proselytizing and trying to brainwash and convert enough normies into their cult that the bubble grows further and they can pass off their BTC bags to even more retarded people?

BTC has always felt like some sort of enormous inside joke that most of us just aren't privy to. The so-called value proposition and "proof of work" claims have always sounded like copelord bullshit. Can any fellow stackers with a more open mind than mine please explain?

As far as my understanding goes, it's proof of work guarantees that no tampering will occur to it as a store of value, and in an world where all currencies are being tampered with and inflated to fit political or monetary policy, this is extremely desireable. BTC and precious metals both fit in a category for this reason, and it's why you're seeing both bull markets come alive.

My biggest concern prior was that BTC liquidates and never recovers in liquidation events like march, proving that it was only a meme being pumped by insiders. However, that it recovered and broke past 10k and now 15k proved that wrong. And now that all central banks are moving towards crypto and digital currencies, it seems like a no brainer to have some assets allocated to BTC and crypto in general.

But thats really where it ends, there isnt anything stopping litecoin, etherium, or any of the cointless bitcoin clones from diluting the market. There may be a limited # of BTC for now, but BTC 2.0 3.0 and so on will dilute it.

American here, depending on what the price of silver does this next week, I'm either going to buy more silver or sell some silver and buy some gold (my reasoning is I don't have any gold and I wouldn't be selling for a loss anyway), so if I am going to buy gold what is the best gold for me to be getting? I want to get a tube like pic related and fill it with American gold eagles but I don't know which size I should do, obviously 1 ounce is the best value but I also feel like 1/2 or 1/4 ounce isn't a bad choice, probably not going to do 1/10 ounce or smaller

same i got 6500, just gonna hold it. i'm averaged at .14 CAD, so not as bad as some. it will go up if silver does as more people search for untapped silver opportunities , but since they wore out their welcome with fake and gay trading stoppages, people will come to this company last

where do you buy your silver?

i used to use JM bullion but received so many BU items with abrasions that i no longer use them. they have decent price/selection so if you're using them for bars or rounds, they're fine

now I mainly use monument metals but depends what i'm looking to buy, their selection isn't the largest but their prices are great

Monument metals is the best online dealer IMO, not overpriced like APMEX (don't know why people give them business) and they have pretty good quality control overall, ordered random date ASEs the other day and got all 2020s. My main place to get PMs is definitely my local LCS as the prices are cheaper and I pretend to avoid tax by paying in cash (of course once I'm done pretending with him I fork over the actual tax money right after) also you can usually pick things out on your own if you have a good relationship with the dealer

Local metals dealership that tests everything it gets and throws anything suspicious into the melt. Fuck I love my town.
