whats the deal with bitcoin cash? seems in a dip right now, is it worth buying? from my understanding of it it seems about as safe as any second-tier crypto. i know the security of the technology is slightly lower than with btc, but it isnt that substantial is it?

Keep in mind that the security model and monetary policy of bitcoin requires fees to protect the 21 million hard cap from inflation. Go look at bcash generating less than $1 per block in fees, and bitcoin generating several full bitcoin worth recently (~$40k). Also realize that 88% of the block reward is already distributed, so the time to transition to fee market is right now.
Based on that what coin do you think will still exist 10 years from now? Where will miners direct their hash rate?
Not even mentioning all the new shit coming to layer 2 like Lightning Pool and Discreet Log Contracts.
