That's dumb as hell; instead of *paying* people to vote, we should charge each citizen $100 to cast their vote, because the bottom rungs of society always vote against the benefit of the rest of us above them. Imagine: a mere one hundred dollars... you could make that in an hour at a decent job, and if you don't have a decent job, then you should get a decent job, or just hustle. $100. This would prevent a lot of voter fraud.

We should totally do this, but we have to make it impossible to pay for this with free money from welfare or whatever somehow.

I vaguely recall something about how our Founding Fathers didn't want to put any infringements on voting like this, but they were assuming a society of enlightened, consequence-minded *people* instead of a mob of irrational animals easily swayed by a poisonous media.
