He's right though. The whole way democracy works is that you show up, get verified as a register voter, then either get an absentee ballot or a ballot. If it's an absentee ballot, you mail it in, it's collected, and then opened on election day in front of observers. If you're voting in person, you fill out the ballot or use the machine, the result is observed by election observers, and then counted in front of those same observers.

Suddenly, for one election only, one party demanding millions and millions of unverifiable ballots just be mailed out to everybody, with no way to verify the ballot received was even marked by the name on the envelope, even fighting in court to get ones where the signature obviously does not match the registered voter's signature, and has been talking to the media for months saying "Sure, it'll probably LOOK like the other guy won, but we're confident that once all these unverifiable ballots finish coming in over the next few months, our guy will be the winner!"
