So Australia is using ETH for a wholesale CBDC
https://twitter.com/RBAInfo/status/1323037186573377536

>The project will involve the development of a proof-of-concept (POC) for the issuance of a tokenised form of CBDC that can be used by wholesale market participants for the funding, settlement and repayment of a tokenised syndicated loan on an Ethereum-based DLT platform.

There are tons of projects like this that will be released within the next year as eth2 scaling is rolled out.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see eth hit $4000 in 2021.

It's aimed to be done this year with the report early next year.
So we may very well get it rolled out before the blockchain CHESS adoption happens.
https://www.zdnet.com/article/asx-sets-april-2022-as-go-live-for-blockchain-based-chess-replacement/

So by 2022 the Australian stock market and whole sale currency distribution could be fully on blockchain based platforms.
ConsenSys also works with chainlink.

It will be interesting to see how the digital yuan and digital dollar roll out.

chainlink?

ConsenSys is massively into eth and has a bunch of tweets about chainlink.

With this Australia will have 3 key parts for blockchain adoption.
We'll have a wholesale CBDC which will pave the way for retail adoption.
The Australian stock market will be on blockchain by 2022.
We also have a national smart contract chain for legal documents and other such things.
Chainlink or oracles in general prove a way to connect various blockchains in Australia together to allow them to trigger various things.

This isn't just bullish for crypto in general it provides a key turning point for chainlink desu

Always enjoy these bread crumbs, thanks anon.

There's one thing I'm not so clear on about CBDCs. Do they just assume that people will have faith in these fiat cryptos? Or will there be some mechanism to get people to trust it?
Analog fiat currencies were originally PM backed. Is it totally far fetched to think CBDCs will end up being "digital gold" based?

* "digital gold" backed

Fiats still have some level of gold backing but they're more so backed by the national economy and debt rather than a single precious metal asset.
I'm not sure if this will change with the advent of crypto cbdcs but it'll enable a lot of things in the near future.

I think this is the first stage of adoption that every chainlink holder is betting on.
Australia is going hard into blockchain and this institutional adoption will force every Aussie bank to get into the crypto game.

We could also get a situation like with the perth mint gold token in which it is directly backed by other assets on the eth blockchain.
Which would also imo prove the reserve business/tokenomics model

I guess they most likely wouldn't tie it to physical asset since they're so worried about a liquidity crisis. I dunno really..

In any case, it's pretty amazing how far Link has come. If this pans out, it's far beyond anything I would have expected to realistically happen even six months ago.

Yeah it's really amazing how far they've come in just 6 months.
I really think that this begins to like properly justify the bullcase scenario numbers for chainlink
