I could not listen to a single Trump presser. All he says is convoluted garbage while constantly emphasizing how great he is. He sounds fake and annoying as fuck and has the rhetorical ability of a 15 year old. Listening to him for more than five minutes is a chore even when I agree with the main principles of what he says.

I don't know how people who hate him can listen to his drivel.

Assignment before exp does not happen. Only funds or banks would do it and they know it is retarded to so.
It does not happen. It never happened to me and I have spent a 4 figure amount on commissions this year alone.

That said I can take all my options being assigned at once. My margin would allow for that. It just doesn't happen.
In thousands of option trades: Not once.
>>23642990
>Naked puts can make you go negative.
Sure. "Can."
Unless you are retarded and trade at the limits of your margin then that is a non issue. If you have 15k USD in collateral and sell a 200 MSFT put the chance of you going negative, which would need MSFT at 40 dollars or so, is de facto 0. If I ever get margin called money is not an issue anymore anyways. Same goes for any other kind of margin trading.

Just don't be retarded but don't treat margin like some kind of magic reatrd gambling when you have a defined risk you are willing to take.

>If you want something low-risk and hands-free, just buy SPY and walk away, in the long run you'll come out on top.
Which is perfect for beginners like you. From there you can go to more advanced strategies if you are interested. It's what I started with a long time ago and now I basically can live off my option writing.

>sold puts can take you negative, stocks can't.
But that's not true.
You can buy 40k on 20k on 100% margin and if it dumps a dollar the same night you go negative.

You can write cash secured puts or just keep the collateral in your account and never go negative even if it dumps 100%.
>Though, if you do what you're describing and hold back some collateral, you're basically doing cash secured with leverage which I suppose is safer
I also hold bonds and gold for that.
> I still think you'd get hit harder in a big dump than index holders.
Sure. No doubts about it. A big dump like this week can hit me pretty hard. But less hard than people holding these stocks directly. And when we go back up and I keep my strike rolled out then I also get more returns than index holders.

The main problem in all that strategy is purely mental. Never do more margin than you can handle. If your margin trading is based on a strategy where SPY would hit 130, before you are called then that's great. If it's 200, then you have a problem.

I could even do more margin but I value my sleep and my ability to laugh even at crashes because it does not bother me.

Adding this now before anything major has happened is just dumb. DOW could go back down to ~25k and it would be viewed as a major correction, a crash would be smashing through ~25k with exuberance. For now, the exact same patterns are repeating as before even though the volatility is much higher. You can literally compare this pattern to the one in 2018 and especially in 2011 when the market had a ~20% CORRECTION before the actual recovery started, or in 2010 when we had a 15% correction.. not a second "crash".
But it's Wikipedia so.. who cares

if you went all in on TUP calls just a week ago you'd be close to millionaire too, and you'd be a multi millionaire if you had did that since March

that's dumbass thinking, there is no scenario where you would have done it unless you're like my friend who sold his AMD shit back before 2018 because it kept crabbing, even though he understood and believed in the tech turnaround (he only ended up buying back in at $45 with his 6 figure portfolio, he'd be a fucking millionaire by now if he had kept faith)

It was high back then because everything was in an unrealistic hype bubble, not to mention when it comes to crypto you have the "halving" event for bitcoin which impacts mining profitability, you have the daily price of bitcoin impacting mining profitability, mining in general could be seen as completely unprofitable and useless if Bitcoin falls below ~6k and that's obviously another major risk where you know the mining company will be unprofitable at a certain price and it's probably hard for big boy investors to put a value on.
I don't think anyone knows how to put a true value on companies like "Riot Blockchain", it could generate hype and shit if it proves it is profitable now that bitcoin had a massive run since march and that's in 17 days.. you can't really correlate it fully to the price of bitcoin either. It is obviously doing HORRIBLE when bitcoin enters a downtrend and fails to recover along side bitcoin when bitcoin enters an uptrend so, I don't know anon.. might aswell just invest in GBTC or if you like the high risk then go for the mining companies

It's software used for visualizing massive amounts of data from various sources. Helps to identify patterns, unusual behavior, errors. Works practically in any field with any info. In Seeking Alpha comments there is an Afghan veteran who speaks highly of Palantir as he used it in the field. Just recently it landed a $91.18M contract with the US military. It's also used in Fiat Chrysler’s factories, used by BP, Airbus.

The company's CEO, Alex Karp, is a true US patriot, with a firm view that democracy is the highest luxury and must be protected by any means. So, Palantir cooperates only with the US and its democratic allies, they won't provide services to the Chinese, Russians, or Arabs. From their SEC filing:
>We have chosen sides, and we know that our partners value our commitment. We stand by them when it is convenient, and when it is not.
