I just bought myself 10 xbox originals to respectable prices. Currently holding 50 GBA handheld gaming consoles. I also am buying a bunch of xbox 360s as of now, everyone wants to get rid of them and selling them on Tise and such, its obviously because of the new release.

Why do these investments never come to surface on /biz? Its basically gold just better, the price increase over time is way more predictable than anything else in the market.

I remember buying m4a1-s in csgo for 30 bucks a pop, not even a year later i 10xed my money on those.

Any likeminded individuals lurking /biz?

>> No.23625837

I think the m4s were named "masterpiece" or something like that, anyway, I saw that the cases and keys that opened those were scarce, so it was an obvious bet

True, but if all the OEM ones in the future are fucked, the fact that it's working will add a lot of value

This is retarded. I can't even sell a ps3... Ps4 came out and now ps5

It's paper weight.

>GBA
thats a good one.
also I have tried to buy this ps2 online, the neat thing about it was that the guy preloaded games that are mega expensive and rare (kuon and haunting ground, other niche horror games) which may be lucrative in the future. If you know how to do that, def do it. Niche horror titles are really hard to find and haunting ground goes for 400 to 800 CIB on ebay.
Also trying to get into stacking limited edition switch consoles.
Get limited edition gba and gba sp if you can too my fren.

I still have my original xbox. I absolutely think there's a value to holding them for a while. Just fire them up from time to time and don't just store them assuming they won't fail on you.

I had a video game collection and sold it all. Only certain games go up in value. Most of them are worth almost nothing. There will always be collectors who want the physical copy but most people just want to play the game. Soon it will be easy for them to buy any retro game and download it onto their current gen console. I don't see original xboxs going up in value that much but I'm literally always wrong so go for it.

That's not true. Every boxed NES game in decent condition has increased in value.

Well that's mostly because the boxes were flimsy and most of them were destroyed. The majority of games across home consoles have plastic boxes that hold up much better. Just look at prices for original xbox, PS2, even PS4 CIB. Most of those prices are down 90% or more from retail price. I don't think they are coming back up. Of course, there are certain games on any console that will keep going up because they are sought after or rare.

Depends on how long you want to wait. Every Spectrum, Amstrad or even Atari ST or Amiga game is worth something now. The computer nerds became one of the highest paid industries in the world and the fetishize this shit.

I suppose. I just think with collecting you need to consider more factors than just the age. Some things appreciate a lot, some things might appreciate a small amount, and others things crash hard and don't come back. Also, the price you get them for is a huge part of it. Sure if you can pick up a box of PS2 games at a garage sale for nothing, then it's a good investment. But don't buy them at top dollar and expect them to increase in value.

when out and about, i stop by casinos (or at least i did prior to 2020) and pick up players cards, chips, dice, literature, pens, etc...that's my retirement fund. buy ten bucks of $1 table chips or the occasional promo $5/$25, sell them for double years later! it's so easy and clever

>> No.23628093

Remove clock capacitor from the originals if you don't want them to break, google it.
